How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Nothing the property is amazing and Martin and his family were super nice - we can only say that there are not a lot of convenient stores around, however this js not related to the property itself and it did not bother us at all

Verified reviewGreat apartment, had everything we could want. The host even offered to do laundry for us during our stay! Parking was simple, short walk down to the town center to the grocery store for supplies, hiking paths in the forest just outside of town, and wonderful views from the heated patio!

Verified reviewThe apartment is really nice. We liked it and we thought it could be one of the places where we would return on regular basis.
Our host Martin turned out to be actually rude person. He charged us by accident 1 guest more. When I politely asked to review suspecting there was done mistake, he started to be really rude and completely ignored me on any way of communication (message, phone, sms). So till all is good and you pay, no questions, requests, etc. -> good. Once you need something -> you as paying customers are treated like a .... It is a pity and at the end bad experience. (Mom of host was very nice though and we send kind regards and gratitude.)
That's absolutely not true! When booking, Lucie stated that she was booking a baby instead of an adult, who of course has a different rate, and that she arrived with additional people for whom an additional charge is required. Something she still doesn't understand suddenly after her leaving, even after numerous explanations bevor and after. What was always okay for you! And normally, I shouldn't have even given you back your entire deposit, because anyone who leaves the apartment like that ugly and doesn't even wash the pots and pans has just as little decency as they need to! You even put on the same fuss at the ticket office in the ski resort, so it's obvious who the nerve lies with! In your case, it would only be fair if you could also rate guests, like other booking platforms do!

Verified reviewPerfect! Nicely decorated, spacious, well equipped, and comfortably furnitured apartment. Nice and well-kept garden also with proper furniture. Beutiful views: snowy mountains are visible from the living room during the summer. The hosts are kind and welcoming, ready to advise good programme tips for your stay. Dogs are also welcome. Unfortuately we stayed too short. Maybe next time :) Recommended!

Having toilet joined with the bathroom for 6 people is quite challenging :-D

Verified reviewThis is the perfect apartment - big, cozy, very beautiful and full of design. You can see that the owners are very in to the well-being of their customers! There was everything that we needed. All the kitchen utensils are there. The kitchen is FULLY equipped. I haven't seen in any other place such a selection of cups, plates, forks, knifes and all the other utensils. Two coffee machines available - pressed and filtered. Beds big and comfortable. One of the rooms has it's own shower and sink. In total 3 rooms, each with a double bed. The terrace is a another success story. Perfect hidden germ in the Stubai alps :) Nobody sees you and disturbs You, chill, sunbath and enjoy the breathtaking view to mountains. Again, a big thanks for the job well done - Martin!! And the hiking trails are starting like direct from the porch of the apartment. :) Did some of them. Perfect! Two car parking slots available. Guests - please mind, shops are not in short walking distance. There is a small one, but with limited working hours. The apartment has not a laundry machine, but the owner offers free laundry service for clients.

Verified reviewWe loved the chalet, a gorgeous place to stay in a beautiful village close to Innsbruck and the Stubai Glacier. The 3 bedrooms are a great size, lovely kitchen, your own outdoor space.. just stunning. Everything you could ask for in an Austrian Chalet.
There really was nothing we didn’t like.. one very small thing, you can hear stomping from upstairs (think a small child lives there).

Verified reviewThe apartment was great. Big kitchen with all required stuff, also great host to invite us, we will come again I think. If you travel 4 pairs, then it works beautifully. There are 4 double beds.
Only flaw is one toilet for all 8 people, but we managed 🙂
