How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was excellent. Near to stores, shopping, restaurants and walking distance to museums. The apartment was beautiful. It was decorated in a classy, high end manner . The appliances and facilities were top notch, and we were provided with coffee, breakfast cereal, milk and a lovely bottle of wine. The staff/ owner was friendly, professional, polite and very helpful. I would highly recommend this beautiful property.

Verified reviewBrilliant staff, couldn't have done enough to support us, e.g. switching out feather pillows for synthetic ones where guest had a feather pillow allergy. Brilliant kitchen facilities and bathroom which were both spotlessly clean. Great location, centre of Vienna was easily walkable and good bars and restaurants around the area. Easy check-in process where helpful staff even took our bags up for us while we went out, and free bottle of wine! Very comfy main bed.
The second room up the stairs in our apartment had a very low ceiling (about 5') and a lower doorframe to enter (about 4' 10") which unfortunately gave it quite a claustrophobic feel and resulted in a few badly banged heads! The main room was great but I didn't pick up the ceiling height from the pictures so worth considering if you're four adults staying together. While the room clean was generally very good, the AC was dusty (not sure if it usually is, but there were works going on outside the room which might have affected it) and the towels were very thin.
We would like to sincerely thank you for your visit and for sharing your constructive feedback. You are absolutely right — in the apartment “Klimt”, the second bedroom on the upper level does indeed have a lower ceiling height. Unfortunately, Booking.com does not allow us to provide a detailed written note about this. For that reason, we try to illustrate it as clearly as possible with floor plans and photos, so that our guests are well informed and not surprised upon arrival. The “Klimt” apartment is especially popular with families with younger children, as the room often feels like a cozy little sleeping nook. That said, we also offer other apartments in different sizes (up to 85 m2 / 915 ft2), with ceiling heights of up to 3.5 meters / 11.5 feet — so there is certainly no chance of feeling claustrophobic 🤗 We truly hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Vienna again in the future. Warm regards, The 7th Heaven Team

Verified reviewThe whole stay started with a warm welcome from the host who met us promptly at the door. We were most impressed by the attention to detail. There were adaptors by the bedside tables and ample supplies of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, laundry powder, and teas and coffees... There was a thick folder of information on everything one needs to know to get around. This place is definitely highly recommended!

Our host was wonderful to carry our bags up the stairs while we were at breakfast so it was fine cut I could see that it would be difficult.

Verified reviewThe apartment was stylish and comfortable and respected the historic building. It was exceptionally well equipped: the owners had thought of everything. The location was very conveniently located for the Museum Quarter, public transport and the city centre. The local neighbourhood was also very pleasant and safe, with lots of shops and cafes.
The air conditioning was a little noisy but it was effective.

Verified reviewWe were a family group of five, staying in two apartments (Freud & Klimt) which were both on the first floor. Freud is the one with fantastic chandeliers in the living room and bedroom (stunning!) and a more spacious kitchen/dining/living area so this is where we gathered together. One son, 24 & 6’2” used the bedroom with the bunk-bed which was long enough for him. Klimt has a small kitchen, a lovely bedroom/sitting room, and an unusual upstairs area with a double bed but very low ceiling so you have to bend almost double. As a result we didn’t use this space. Beds very comfy; showers great; well equipped kitchens; washing machine; all spotlessly clean. Although the building is down a small side street with no views, the location is excellent - just 5 minutes walk to the Museums Quarter and a few minutes more to the Hofburg Palace, and then the city centre. Thank you to Annika who was a lovely host and responded to any questions very quickly.
The only small gripe was that the aircon in Klimt was water-cooled and a bit noisy, but it was very effective in cooling the apartment quickly. Oh, and one morning workmen were doing some stone-working on the front doorway, so no chance of a lie-in that morning - but it was after 8.30am so fair enough.

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay at 7th Heaven! The apartment is in a great location, making it easy to explore Vienna. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated just like the pictures, and felt very comfortable. Our host was passionate, resourceful, and responded promptly to all our questions, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
The only shortage is that there is no elevator.

Verified reviewLoved the location, the decor and the attention to detail in the apartment. Short walk to underground, cafes, bars, restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket and bakery. Beautiful chandeliers. Everything provided including a little breakfast cereal and a thoughtful extensive guide to Vienna prepared by a local. Staff (Clemens) went out of his way to be helpful. Communication and check in was efficient.
