The property is located in the peaceful town just across from Hallstatt — away from the noise and crowds, surrounded by greenery. Getting to the center is very easy, either by bus or boat. We stayed in a ground-floor room and truly enjoyed the garden right outside. The owners are lovely, kind, and very helpful. Breakfast was simple but more than enough. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely choose this place again if we return.

B&B Simmer can be found in a great location, in a quiet, small village of Obertraun however close to lots of charming, historic sites like Hallstatt. The house was very well kept, clean and cozy. The room together with the bathroom were refreshed every day with frequent towel changes as we stayed for a week. The Owners, Heidi and Hubert were very friendly and helpful. They recommended us various places in the region to visit and we explored a part of Salzkammergut with much pleasure. We'll remember their breakfasts made from the heart. I miss Heidi's offering a capuccino and Hubert's omelettes in the morning. It was great to sit on the terrace watching the hills and the gliders.

I really liked the family room. It was big enough and comfortable. Also, the breakfast was very healthy with unique smoothies. Lastly, it was very convenient that we had the metro station very very close to the hotel.

Excellent quiet little town. Only 10 min drive away from the busy traffic busy Hallstat. Decent choice of restaurants available. Did almost 2 hours walking trail in Koppenwinkelsee Nature Reserve nearby.

We had a beautiful 3 days here. Our room upstairs with a deck was lovely and quiet with a peaceful view. We slept so well! Heidi and Hubert were so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast time was fantastic. Omelettes, fruit salad, lovely coffee/tea and soooo much more! I also loved saying hello to their beautiful hens who provide the eggs 😊 Swimming in the nearby lake was beautiful and we so enjoyed our morning trip to 5 fingers and going early in the morning on the ferry across to Hallstatt. I wish I had asked about walking to Hallstatt as we saw the pathway when we caught a taxi back to Salzburg airport. I would love to come back and do walking and maybe in the ski season too. Such a welcoming place to stay - thanks again 😊😊

The bed was hard, which seems to be typical in Austria.

Very cozy room with wonderful view of the mountains. The breakfast was great with fresh food and everything you need to start the day with a smile. Perfect alternative to staying in Hallstatt as is less than 10 min driving.

I loved the calmness of the accommodation and the whole Obertraun area, perfect for many kinds of travellers. The hosts were very welcoming, thoughtful, nice and helpful. The breakfast was really good. I would love to come again sometime, preferably for a longer stay.

We had a wonderful stay! The hosts were incredibly kind, easy-going, and friendly—truly made us feel at home. The breakfast was absolutely perfect, with fresh and delicious options each morning. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The location couldn’t be better: peaceful surroundings that offer total relaxation, yet still convenient. A great bonus is that you can rent bikes directly from them and even buy their homemade honey—so good! What more could you ask for?

If you want a comfortable place to stay, this one is highly recommended. It’s also affordable and we really enjoyed our stay, although it’s too short, the Host welcomed us as if it’s our home, they are friendly and very accommodating. Bus, Train and Boat stations are just few minutes away (by walk) WiFi connection is also fast. Neighborhood is quiet and everything you see is picturesque. Definitely recommended!
