How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe have come a long way and after this long journey, it was never considered that there might be urgent needs such as a toilet and even though we came with our reservation code, it took a long time to complete the reservation at the door and then the outer door did not open, so we had to wait for a while. We asked for help many times, but the staff were there but did not help at all. At least, after entering the reservation code, the outer door should be able to be opened and there should have been the opportunity to complete the reservation process inside the machine. At least this should have been possible. In the end people come off the journey and arrive there, you should be able to get in at reception with the reservation code, you may have urgent needs, this was very disturbing and the outer door did not open with the room number, it did not open the next evening either. The next evening, the room number was not opened with the room key, even though we told the reservation about this, they said that such a thing was not possible. The employees are not open to helping at all, they act sullen when we ask something or ask for something. The bed sheet was stained on the Yatagan side. If the authorities want, I can take a photo of it and send it. We had a hotel experience that we were not satisfied with, especially regarding the staff's sullen attitude when we asked them something.

To date, there have been very few complaints, as we also have an emergency number that is available 24/7 (we also checked—your check-in was very quick, faster than the average calculated, which in turn shows that the system works well and is easy to use and understand). . Furthermore, we naturally regret that your well-being was not promoted by the fact you mentioned – but honestly, between us: are you blaming a hotel for that? OK – we have never had that before and will reconsider this in the future. Our hotels use numerical codes that usually consist of six digits – these open the second entrance door (the first is always open and the second is closed after reception closes to prevent uninvited guests from entering and to guarantee your safety) and also the doors to our hotel rooms. The hotel does not open the room doors – for your reference, we are also providing this information in writing for next time. Verified reviewQuiet neighborhood, safe, close to the excellent public transport systems. Property is clean, well maintained, functional.
This property is not a hotel in the traditional sense but a place to stay. It is understaffed, no night porter. Although at night the guests get an entry code, it is easy for people with bad intentions to slip in the bonafide guests. Prefer to pay at bit more for safety and to see friendly staff. The place feels sterile without friendly staff.

Verified reviewVery convenient location if you are going to a concert! Literally is next to the Arena! Train, tram, bus, and subway stations are nearby.
On our second day, unexpectedly electricity went off in our room,we thought it was a power outage, but it wasn't as hall and elevators were working, Reception staff was truly helpful, they immediately offer us another room as they were understaffed in order to check what was going on with the power outage in our room.

Verified reviewNew and clean facilities. No noises were heard. Location is perfect if you are attending to an event at the Wiener Stadthalle (which is literally in front of the hotel), but also well communicated with the subway, tram and bus stations.
There are some hours that reception desk doesn’t work (specially on weekends or holiday days) and you find out this once you arrive at the hotel. Although you can do self check in using the machines located at the entrance so get your code to access the room at 3pm, they don’t let you know this information in advance (or even at the time you do the self check in) so it was chaotic and stressful to figure out all this information. It would be really helpful that customers know this info and schedule and how to process in advance.

My window was exactly looking over the venue’s entrance so I could monitor the flow of people going to the same concert. 😁 Pretty nice! The room was clean, everything was great, the staff were friendly. I would book again if I travel for the same purposes.
