Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaMold and humidity, no ventilation at basement level. Poor quality of cleaning (I suggest they don’t change bedsheets, cuz we found a lot of hair in our bed). Fan in the room save situation a bit, but there was only a small window right under the ceiling).

CroatiaThe room had weird smell and I believe it’s from lack of air and not being able to open the windows (or at least we didn’t know how to open them). For two nights, we didn’t mind.
The location is very central which made exploring the city easy and fun , and check in was soo simplified and the communication was quick and efficient. The hostel was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. Perfect for two-night stay.

SpainThere is no staff at all, expect the cleaning lady. That means there is no way for a direct communcation with employees. I dont want to be sending emails while I am in the hostel. Thus, there was no way to leave our buggage for a few hours last day, as it was mentioned in the booking. Something negative as well, was that in our room the wall was "falling" and with any small touch, small pieces from the wall were falling in our bed and in the floor which was annoying and made the room dirty. Lastly, the heating was very high (February) and I was sleeping almost naked without cover in order to handle it. We could not lower it down more.
It was value for money, especially if you consider that Vienna is very expensive. The kitchen was fully equiped and the location is good, which means around 20 mins walking from the central squares.

CanadaFunny that in the description they claim that the rooms are soundproof. This is very much not the case. You can hear just about everything including people drilling at 1am?? The hot water in the showers never worked for me.

SwitzerlandI think it needs more signs with instructions for people so that the experience for everyone improves: e.g. There needs to be a sign next to the showers which says: please leave the shower doors open for respiration and please hang up the wet towels. In the kitchen there could be labels and a marker so people could label their food with the date of departure and name so other people know, wheather they can throw away unneeded food or use it. For that it might again be necessary to put step by step instructions next to it because a lot of people don’t think about that and the shared facilities end up being a bit discusting. Additionally: mabe more plugs in the kitchen.

United KingdomThe common area was small so not as friendly or getting to know many people as everyone would probably be out or only there if they cook. They had like 3 tables with 3 chsir or 4 chairs max. Which is reducing the amount of people that can be there. A bit expensive for the facilities and mainly because I went alone. And a bit cold in the room, had to switch to long sleeve pyjamas and cover with two blankets (sort of old style building and walls). But overall happy to have had a place to stay. There's no reception, so you don't really get human contact, it's digitalised. Also no place to leave your luggage if you wanted to before or after check-in /check-out
The entry room was with a code so no need to carry a key. The cleaning lady was very helpful when ingot there she helped me with my room, also there's no reception there. Cooking facilities were available and dishes, cutlery, oven and electric hob, fridge. Dish washer. Private room, towels provided. Shared toilets and showers.

United KingdomThe property definitely prioritises looks over functionality. It is shared bathrooms and the bathroom door on our floor wouldn’t even close due to being too big for the frame. A lot of the toilets were left with no toilet roll by the end of the day as only 2 rolls were put in them during the morning clean- not enough for the amount of guests sharing these bathrooms. The showers themselves were lovely but don’t drain properly due to being a poorly done ‘wet room’ style leading to pools of water forming in the room and seeping out into the corridor- very dangerous in my opinion! The doors of the showers were also glass! Frosted slightly but not enough to maintain much privacy in a communal space 😬 All the sheets in our room had some sort of staining on them and the provided towels were still damp upon our arrival. Also, low rating for staff as we didn’t see a single staff member :)
It was modern and the beds were comfy. Great that they provide a kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. The location was also great and very secure building

TurkeyMy room was in the basement and dampy, I could hardly breath there, you can not find any people in case of a need, location is far without public transport you have to walk a lot to the center. Bathrooms were leaking after use there should be maintenance, toilet door can hardly be closed, and when something finishes during the day or something gets dirty, there is no reinforcement, only once a day they clean.

New ZealandFair and Honest Review: Bloom Apartments, Vienna I recently stayed at Bloom Apartments for two nights, having booked what was advertised as the “Green Apartments” through Booking.com. Unfortunately, my experience was mixed — some highlights, but also several serious issues that future guests should be aware of. Booking Confusion & Arrival: I arrived at the address listed in my booking confirmation from Booking.com, only to find that it was not the actual accommodation address. Feeling unwell at the time, I then had to call the contact number provided to get the correct location. Although the staff were responsive and provided new directions, I ended up taking two separate taxis to sort out the confusion — an unexpected and frustrating expense that was not my fault. Unfortunately, My Room Was in the Basement: Unfortunately, my assigned room was in the basement, which I strongly feel is not suitable for paying guests. As soon as I descended the stairs, I was hit with an overwhelming damp smell that irritated my nose and throat. There was visible mold on the walls and even on the floor of my room. The basement also contains two showers and toilets, but they have serious drainage issues. Water pools on the floor, creating a slippery and unsafe environment — and having to step into someone else’s shower water was deeply unpleasant. Shared Facilities – Inadequate for Number of Guests: Another issue was the kitchen. For the number of guests staying in the property, one fridge-freezer and a limited number of cookers simply isn’t enough. The fridge was completely full when I arrived, leaving me no space to store any of my own food — which defeats the purpose of a self-catering apartment. Final Thoughts: I do understand that Bloom Apartments may be expanding in a challenging financial climate, and the upstairs space reflects a lot of care and effort. However, the basement accommodations fall far short of acceptable standards, both in terms of hygiene and safety.
First Impressions – Promising Upstairs: Once I arrived at the correct location, I was genuinely impressed by the upstairs area. It was modern, clean, and stylishly decorated — especially for a budget apartment. It felt warm and welcoming, with thoughtful touches and conveniences that made a good first impression.

TurkeyAs a hotelier, I unfortunately encountered a few issues that I cannot overlook when it comes to value and service. First, upon check-in, the tables in the café-style entrance area were dirty. Since it was a shared space, I chose to overlook it, but that doesn’t make it acceptable tbh. When I entered the room, I found someone’s dental floss on the window side , which I hope they will check and remove after reading this review. The bed and the towels didn’t feel hygienic, there were stains in the pillows they placed on the bed, and the floors were dirty, with spider webs on the walls. (On checkout day, I also had the opportunity to meet the lovely friend who made the webs.) I understand that common areas might not always be perfectly tidy or clean , but these issues in a private room are absolutely unacceptable. I tolerated it since I was just there to sleep, and didn’t want to throw away my money since it was a budget trip but I really hope this feedback is taken as constructive rather than critical. By addressing these issues, they could create a better environment for future guests. To be honest, I don’t plan to stay here again, and I cannot recommend this accommodation in its current state due to serious hygiene issues.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to attractions. The design is not so bad
