How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewNothing. Unfortunately, there was nothing about this property that I found enjoyable or satisfactory.
The worst experience I’ve ever had. We arrived at 11 PM with my wife, our 8-month-old baby, and our 4-year-old child. The building was completely dark with no lighting and looked like a ruin. It was under renovation and appeared old, messy, and honestly, quite scary. There was no elevator, and since the building was being renovated, getting in and out of the apartment was very difficult—especially with kids and luggage. The apartment itself was extremely dirty. I had to go out and buy a mop just to clean the floors myself. The water from the mop turned black instantly—it was that bad. Despite the conditions, we stayed for 12 nights. On the day of checkout, we were 15 minutes late (our checkout time was 10:00 AM, and we left at 10:15). In that short window, a cleaner stormed in yelling at us aggressively for not being out. She scared our kids, who started crying, and she was incredibly rude—threatening us and saying she didn’t care if our belongings were still inside, we had to leave immediately. In addition to the cleaner, the apartment owner also contacted us during that time. He told us that he didn’t care if we had children inside or whether we were ready—we had to leave the apartment that very second. Even though I apologized and offered to pay for a full extra night just because of those 15 minutes, they showed no understanding at all. I usually don’t leave reviews, even though I travel often. But I feel it’s important to warn others. Staying at this apartment was an extremely unpleasant experience—and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Verified reviewThe apartment was spotless when we arrived. The beds were really comfortable, and kitchen was well-equipped. The apartment was easily accessible - no more than 5 minutes away from U4 (metro) and bus station, so it wasn't difficult reaching the main attractions. We felt safe during the night. The shops were a few minutes away.
Everything was fine - except for the entrance to the building, which seemed creepy. (It's being renovated at the time of writing this review.)

The building is really old and under renovation so when we arrived we thought we were scummed because from the outside it seemed like it was abandoned. The corridor and stairs need renovation

Verified reviewThe apartment itself was fine. Nothing to write home about.
The exterior of the building was completely covered in scaffolding. The common areas were pretty unacceptable. There were construction materials all over the place. It was not clean at all. The workers started at 6:30 in the morning, banging on pipes. When the reconstruction is done, I can imagine it being a beautiful building.

The entrance and stairwell. Noisy because of busy street. No air conditioning, so windows must be left open.

Verified reviewNice apartment and convenient location next to a metro station. It had all the necessities.
The building is under renovation with scaffolding outside. When we arrived at night we thought we were scammed! Luckily the instructions were good and we found the apartment which was nice and we quickly recovered! It would have been useful to have been notified of the situation...

Verified reviewSCAM SCAM SCAM .!! DONT BOOK IT The place is located inside a building, not only in a bad or neglected state, and not dirty. Instead, it's in a dilapidated building where the entrance door needs to be kicked open. My mother, who was with me, expressed her concern about the place and stated that she would never want her daughter to spend time there. Not all guests may have been as fortunate as us in trying to open the door. I am attaching photos and videos to illustrate the situation. During our stay, a visibly intoxicated homeless woman aggressively entered the apartment, causing us fear. This incident led us to discover the method of entry. Kicking the door in, because there no lock. Later, we observed her collecting plastic bags in the central courtyard, leading us to believe she did not reside there, but that anyone could enter without restrictions. The building's conditions speak for themselves, and I consider it crucial that this information be included when offering the place. The host argues that the state of the building is not their responsibility. This raises a significant concern about transparency in the accommodation description. I believe it goes without saying that it's misleading not to include such crucial information; it could be considered deceptive. I have confidence in the integrity and trust that Booking had previously conveyed to me, which makes it unnecessary to go into extensive details. It is the responsibility of the host to maintain the condition of the space they offer. It is truly disheartening that the opposite is expected.
The building is literally falling apart, as evidenced by the photos of the crumbling walls, the burnt walls, the putrid smell, the broken stairs and floor. The main door lacks any protection and can only be entered by kicking it. It is regrettable that someone would offer accommodation in such a building, not only putting guests at risk but also excusing themselves by saying that the state of the building where their apartment is located is "not their responsibility". I could understand if it were a matter of cleanliness, neighbors, or noise, but the problem is that the building lacks any kind of security for entry and is in truly deplorable condition. I have attached photos because it may seem hard to believe. Furthermore, when I contacted them, they expressed regret that the place did not meet my expectations (which I consider a real offense) but offered me another apartment, in a very distant area, of course, at an extra cost! In the end, I told them it was offensive that they would try to charge me more for this scam. They said they would not charge me more, but insisted I go to the other place. After this scam, would you trust this HOST? I certainly wouldn't. To date, I have received no response from the HOST or Booking regarding a refund, as I had to pay for another emergency accommodation since staying in that unsafe and dilapidated place was impossible.
