Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe stairs to the hotel are very dirty. The carpet in the hotel is dirty. Cockroaches are running around in the hotel. Poison the cockroaches and do something about the dirt, then the hotel format will be good for a low price.
Kitchen and bathrooms were comfortable. Good price, easy to get to the city center.

AustriaKitchen was very oily and things were not washed well, I think it is because of some guests who didn’t clean with soap probably.
Bathroom and toilet were exceptionally clean and dry. The cleaning staff (girl) were so friendly and very helpful. She was amazing.

AustriaThe front door of the hostel literally doesn't work. Both nights I got in thanks to someone opening the door from the inside after hearing me struggle. You enter the code and hear a confirmation, that it's unlocked, once you try opening it though, it just won't. If it worked, the system would be great - I was looking forward to the self check-in a lot, as I arrived late. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Another thing that is bothering is that the air quality inside the pods is basically non-existing. Unless you're really really tired (which to be fair - during my second night I was), you're gonna have a hard time falling asleep. At the end, you will get your value for money, the cheap price isn't for nothing. If you just want to spend a cheap night or maybe two, and don't have trouble falling asleep, go for it. If you find something else at a similar price however, do yourself the favor and take that offer.
The facilities (bathrooms, showers, sinks) and shared areas seem well maintained, even though there's some leakages - nothing that influences you using them. The pods are pretty nice, the "bed" more comfortable than you'd expect, there is two pillows, one more comfortable than the other but nothing special.

ItalyCuriously, despite the architect's intentions, it's not easy to keep human contact alive in common spaces. Sometimes the place is really too silent, it's heavy. Also, about Cubes: the abitability of the rooms is really questionable. They don't have windows and the ventilation system is uneffective, expecially with high temperatures. That's a big red flag. The room space is incredibly tiny, expecially for 2 people. If you suffer from claustrophobia, I do not recommend this place. I myself had episodes of claustrophobia in my past (much better now) and was quite shocked at the first sight of the room. Definitely, sleeping with the door open can help a lot.
The Cubes project/design is original for sure. The idea of making big common spaces for co-working is not bad at all, and the room concept is very unique.

New ZealandThe cubes were far too hot at night, which made it very difficult to sleep. I ended up tossing and turning and felt quite exhausted during my trip as a result. Even with the windows left open for airflow, it wasn’t enough to cool the space down. Installing fans or a proper ventilation system would significantly improve the comfort of the cubes.
After reading some of the reviews before arriving, I was quite worried about this place, but I think a few of them were overly harsh. Considering the price, the location is pretty good, and the cleanliness was better than I expected—though not perfect. The common areas were tidy, but there were a few stains on the towels and bedding, even though they smelled freshly laundered. We also found a bit of hair in the room from previous guests. The cubes are quite small, so spending just a little more time on detailed cleaning would make a big difference. On the positive side, the showers were clean and had good water pressure. Some guests did leave wet bathmats behind, but that’s more about guest behaviour than the property itself. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable throughout our stay. While some previous reviews mentioned concerns about security, I personally felt safe the entire time and had no worries about leaving my belongings during the day. Overall, considering how much I paid it’s good value for money with some room for improvement, especially in terms of cooling and detailed cleaning.

GermanyThe rooms are made out of particle board and don't have windows whatsoever. The only air circulation is via ventilation system, that is not sufficient. The room was too hot and I felt smell of wood glue. Still ventilation was noisy, and I had to use earplugs. Adding windows with curtains would help, even if they look towards another chamber. Because of the Cubes' material, there was high risk of fire. The smoking is forbidden, but sometimes I felt smell of it in common area nevertheless. There is electricity inside cubes, but I didn't not see any fire extinguisher anywhere. The linen had small holes and old stains, that could not be washed. I noticed dust and hair from previous stay in the corners nearby sleeping area. I would suggest the hotel to hire more people, because the cleaning lady looked really overwhelmed. Another big issue in the Cubes was safety. The doors to the building and to the hotel itself could be open without any key or pin code. Only the rooms closed properly. Almost every night I saw people sleeping in common areas. They didn't do any harm and my belongings were fine, but I didn't feel comfortable.
I like the idea of small, but affordable and individual chambers. Cleanliness in the rooms was sufficient. The linen were fresh. The common rooms, like kitchen, toilets and bathrooms were in almost perfect condition and looked very new.

United KingdomThere was a power cut in the communal areas the night I arrived until the next afternoon. The power cut highlighted the lack of ventilation in the building because none of the toilets, showers or cubes have windows. They do all have extractor fans, but during the power cut, none of these were working, so the whole place was hot, stuffy and had a terrible smell in places. After messaging and phoning the company the following day, they told me they had sent an engineer to fix the power outage, which was fixed when I returned that evening. I also noticed that the cubes are not as sound proof as you might hope, because I could hear muffled voices in the cube below mine and next to mine in the corridor at times. The toilets were pretty dirty the first night I arrived and the communal area had some rotting apples in the trash which smelt terrible. Once the power was back on though, the place seemed to be kept fairly well clean and stocked with toilet roll, soap and washing up liquid.
The cubes were comfortable and warm and the facilities were as expected.

AustraliaThe lack of room to store your belongings and unpack your suitcase. The shampoo bottle fell off the wall while my partner was showering and hit her in the head 😂. The door knob lock is a bit of a process and was loose on the inside of the door making you have to press it against the door for it to actually unlock.
The location was perfect, a tram line at the end of the street and a bus stop in the other direction. The easy access to the property and checkin process, the customer service was quick and effective at resolving my issues with the Vienna Registration. The kitchen was huge with plenty of space in the cupboards and fully stocked for cooking needs. The bathroom was very spacious even inside the shower there was plenty of room, the water pressure was good also. There was a nice lounge area with a vending machine too. The security of the place overall felt safe.

BelgiumPlease do not expect anything in the commons to be clean - the kitchen was filthy - the showers were … ok i guess un comparison to the other commons. There is no insonorisation in the boxes despite the description. Plus - i had booked for 2 nights - first night there were no electricity and hence no hot water - so you could sleep but not take a shower nor use the kitchen nor the rest of commons.
Thé location was better than expected - a few minutes walk from subway line 4 connecting you to everywhere. The room is a box but you re aware of it when booking so it is fine. The cleaning lady was great - although overworked as she was one to deal with all of it !

ArmeniaIt seemed not very secure without a personal inside and without checking the passports of the guests, I rarely found my message on my mail with the code and room number, and if didn’t find it, I would stay outside. The entrance code hadn’t been changed for a long time and it seems sometimes there could be persons who were from outside. And when finally the code was changed I have got it on my mail a little later. So couldn’t enter if at the moment someone wasn’t getting out of the Cube. There was an Italian man who was speaking very loud, on the second day I have heard some man was shouting very loud in early morning around 6am, I was scared. Toilets were not very clean first two days. On the first day when I finally have found my code and entered the room, it was not clean(it was already after 15:00), and I asked to clean it, after I could enter. Out of my room was very cold.
I liked the location-not far from the transport station, I liked the single rooms, that there were several bathrooms and toilets, and that entrance was by code.

United KingdomThe entrance was very, very daunting to arrive at in the dark as a solo female traveller. It was like walking into a dodgy multi storey car park stairwell with bags of rubbish in. The main door was wide open. After re-reading several reviews since arriving which all raised concerns about security at this point, clearly nothing had been actioned. A shame, because the concept is good but I would not be recommending this place based on this part of the experience.
The room (cube) itself was comfy, wonderfully dark to sleep in and the showers and toilet facilities great. Very spacious shower, decent water pressure and really good hairdryers - thank you! Kitchen had generally good facilities - I only used the kettle. It was clean enough considering it was all shared facilities. The room was clean.

United KingdomThe toilets weren’t cleaned for the whole 3 days I was there. They were dirty with all kinds of bodily fluids and hairs on them. You get emailed lots of different codes to enter the building but the security locks were broken on the 2 main doors so anyone could just walk in. There is no reception or staff on site aside from the cleaner who is there for a few hours in the morning to clean the rooms.
The room was cosy. The shared areas were nicely decorated. Very good tactility’s in the shared kitchen e.g. pans, plates, bowls, cutlery, fridge, kettle etc. I arrived at around 11:30 although check in wasn’t until 3pm and the cleaner quickly cleaned up my room so I could check in early which was really helpful! A 10 min walk to the metro station where you can get the train into the centre which takes only a few minutes and comes very frequently.

CroatiaSecurity concerns We got a check in information with multiple door codes we would have to use to enter the accomodation. However, the front door of the building was always unlocked and we later found out that the main door of the accomodation was also unlocked and that the key code served no purpose. Additionally, the door code of our room was the first number combination anyone would guess and it wasn't changeable (we contacted their support regarding this). Not a great place to leave your valuables during the day. Internet The provided WiFi password did not work and we had to contact the support team who responded quickly. Comfort The cubes themselves have inherent flaws in their design. While cute at first glance, you are sharing the cube with another guest. It's a glorified bunk bed separated by a tiny layer of plywood. Not an ideal place if you require soundproofing as you will hear every turn and cellphone notification from your neighbour. Ventilation inside the room could be better.
The facilities and cubes were extra clean. The soap was refilled daily. The mattress was really comfortable. The accomodation is placed near public transport (5-10 min walk). The staff was friendly and approachable.
