Nobody at reception, pillows so bad, nobody there to talk with . Bed light doesn't work.

Dear, I would like to make a complaint about my accommodation during the stay at the Aktivhotel Wildschütz, Gmunden (09.-10.08.2025). Once we arrived at the hotel nobody was on the reception, and we should make self-check-in through automatic machine in the entrance hall. We filled in all necessary information and the machine was not able to give us the card from the room. We called to manager, and we spent more then one hour to solve this issue. After that time technician came and tried to repair the machine. No change happened. After more than 30 minutes the technician give us the physical normal keys from the drawer. We lost more than hour and half of our holiday due to these technical problems and absence of the receptionist. I would appreciate and I expect a partially financial refund for this unsatisfactory service. Best Regards,

The breakfast was really good. Large variety to choose from, great pastry and the lady serving it was always nice to us.

We prebooked separate beds and boxes for storing the bikes and we got neither of those. Also there was no one at the reception and the phone contact listed at the reception did not help us at all. The lady on the phone only kept repeating that she does not have anything about the boxes for bikes in her file and that it is not her fault. After 15 minutes of repeating this to us and telling us this nobody can come to provide keys to the boxes, she suggested we either kept the bikes on our car or stored our bikes in the lobby which was always open and without any lock in the door. I wouldn’t expect anything like that from a 4 star hotel and the cost about 500€ for two days. This is really not acceptable and we are not coming back.

Everything was perfect,we spent only one night but the location is a plus.

They forgot to prepare a sofa for a fourth member of our family but the receptionist fix it immediately and it was all fine...

The view was nice, but the balcony was shared with another room — so we couldn’t even leave the balcony door open (the room was extremely stuffy due to the lack of air conditioning, and the fan just made noise without actually cooling anything). The selection of loose-leaf teas at breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Overall, it’s not a bad place, but very poorly thought-out. There’s no air conditioning in the rooms, and after 5 p.m. there was no staff around — we couldn’t even ask for clean towels. There were no towels in the gym either. Our part of the building didn’t have an elevator, so we had to carry our bags all the way to the top floor, even though there were other vacant rooms on the lower floors.

Big roomes. Quite location for good sleep. There is a sport centre near the hotel and tenis court, also small atletics training place near by in the woods. You have a fitness room and sauna. The hotel does have a storage place for bikes if you bring your own bike. The perfect place for active holidays!

We chose the property as it was in a quiet area, had a restaurant and breakfast.

The property did not inform us that the restaurant was closed until the day of arrival by which time cancellation without penalty not possible- further - and that there was also not breakfast service the morning we were there - this was high handed of them as we would have cancelled had we known. They took no effort to have in house snacks available and as we were on bicycles the whole experience was disappointing.

Good location

There were three huge cow paintings on the walls, which felt quite unusual and a bit out of place. There was no kettle in the room, which was disappointing. Also, the cleanliness could have been better — the room didn’t feel very well maintained. Overall, a few improvements could really enhance the experience.

The computer for the check -in at the reception does not work properly. It was difficult to check-in due to technical issues even with the help of the receptionist.

The facilities have been extraordinary clean and fully new renovated. We have been staying in a Junior suite which was spacious - especially also the bathroom was huge. Breakfast had a big variety and high quality of food. Staff was friendly and proactively approaching us if anything needed.

For the Junior Suite, the pictures have not representable + the description was stating a separate living room which was not the case. Not a problem as the room was still nice, but we expected something different.

Many customers were having difficulty checking in. Of course, I also checked in with difficulty in relocating. In order to check in when free, the hotel had to inform the customer of the check-in order easily enough. On this day, some customers were having difficulty checking in, so I offered them help. There were customers from other countries other than Austria, and they were having difficulty checking in for senior couples. You have to give sufficient guidance on the order of check-in in advance to make it new.

Bed was amazing, bathtube too. The staff was nice. All clean.

The only 2 things I was not totally happy with was the mirror being too far from what I would need to get my lenses on my eyes and then what was really annoying was the timer for light at the toilet and it drove me crazy 🤣

The wellness facilities were excellent, and breakfast was tasty. The staff is friendly.
