How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe got room 512 – you could say it’s practically new. Inside, it has everything you’d expect from a small apartment. The hotel is located in the central part of the town, and they provide a tourist card for the day, which allows you to take the lift up to several peaks in the area – a really nice bonus. The breakfast was delicious and varied. We enjoyed our stay here. Thank you!
The only downside is the single sliding door for both the shower and toilet (probably designed to save space, but it offers no soundproofing or privacy).

It is not possible to lock the apartment door from inside (which is very needed when you have small children)

Coffee wasn’t provided with coffee machine, very unlikely someone will travel with a couple of exact coffee pods Also no iron in the room, had to ask staff member, but before they managed to find one, we had to leave for our travel

No hair drier, pillows are not confortable, they have dishwasher but no clothes washer, very small tv with very bad quality through HDMI, no view even if ot is "panorama". Almost no food in their a la carte restaurant. We chosen for the Sommercard but now, i would prefer to pay the card and chose another location. City tax is 2.5€ per neght and per person. Go in Italy 😂😂

However, we would like to clarify a few points: It is quite unfair to claim that “nothing” was good during your stay. We always aim to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests, and we regret that you didn’t feel this way. As clearly stated in the hotel information, hairdryers are available at the reception upon request. You only needed to ask or check the information provided. The same applies to the pillows – we would have been happy to provide alternatives had you let us know during your stay. Our apartments are not advertised with a washing machine, so it’s a bit surprising to mention that as a point of criticism. The TVs we provide are standard size for our room categories. If screen size is important to you, we always recommend checking such details directly with the hotel before booking – we are happy to answer any questions in advance. You did not book a room with a “panorama view”. In fact, the reception even offered you a complimentary room upgrade during your stay, which you chose not to accept. Regarding the restaurant: our à la carte menu is designed to offer a good variety while maintaining freshness and quality. Of course, guests are under no obligation to dine with us – there are many options in the area. The Sommercard is always included in the stay and is not tied to the city tax. The local city tax of €2.50 per person per night is mandatory and is clearly stated in the booking confirmation as a separate charge to be paid on site. All Austria hotels seem not to have tea and coffee in the room. That would be nice if they even had a single sachets. There was a coffee machine in the room but no capsules for it, and no sign of anywhere to buy them.

The toilet in the rooms is not actually in the bathroom, but separately. Not so convenient and hygienic when you have to wash your hands after... A tea boiler (and some tea bags) would be nice.
