How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI like the location being close to the central train station and bus station.
No air-conditioning. It was hot during our stay as it was summer time. Some breakfast days you have to queue. Too small breakfast room size. The food option is very limited and the quality is not great. The juice option is similar to Robinson's highly concentrated flavoured juice drinks that is just mixed with water. If a visitor is tight on budget, this is ok, but don't expect much. I cannot recommend this place unless you have not got much money and just needed a place to sleep.

Verified reviewVery little
The price was very high for the facilities on offer. The rooms were hot, small and noisy. There was exposed wiring in one of the rooms and no air conditioning just a noisy ceiling fan. Not sure why you are listing this property as 3 star. We left early and are looking for a refund for the unused 3rd night of 300 euros

Verified reviewIt was close to the train station and easy to walk to the main sites in Salzburg like Mirabell Gardens etc. The staff tried their best to be helpful, restocking toilet roll, storing our luggage etc.
I expected a basic room, however I didn’t expect it to be so small that you couldn’t move around the room. The double rooms you see in the photos are the same size as a family room for 5. We had two double beds pushed against the walls/windows with a narrow gap between them and a sofa bed against the other wall with another narrow gap. We only just managed to find floor space for our 3 suitcases. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a smaller family room! We booked this last minute so had very few options but didn’t feel like this was value for money. We spent as much time as possible out of the hotel as when in our room you couldn’t move. Side note the TV didn’t work, it had no volume. We didn’t mention this at the time as we weren’t really bothered about using it. City tourist tax seemed to only be able to be paid by cash and was more expensive than booking.com had suggested.

Verified reviewHotel is not for people that's coming for leasure like couples or families. I booked the hotel because it was near the train station. Firstly, the thereceptionist didn't speak English, either German ( a guest who was checking in before me was trying to communicate with him in German and it was very difficult for her). If you want to run a business in hospitality, you have to have at least the basics of the English language and the language that's spoken in the county. The hotel is located in a petrol station with all junkies around. The room was boiling, and when requested, a fan to the receptionist seems to be surprised. He just wrote it down and told me he was going to verify. My wife was very scared and upset. When I started to read the previous reviews, I got very concerned and decided to leave. Paid for 3 nights and stayed around 2 hours. Didn't want to argue with the receptionist, so only give an excuse and left. Please read the reviews before booking this place. I paid much less for a room in Vienna, and it was a proper hotel. The price is extremely expensive for what they offer. With a similar price, I got a good deal at the Cocoon Hotel. Anyway, I lost around 300 euros because I did not read previous reviews. So, if you do not want to get scammed, please avoid this place .

Verified reviewLocation is good as its not far to walk to the main tourist area's , 5 minute walk from Salzburg Station,
Located alongside a Shell Garage,Lots of people shouting outside at night, Lots of Cars, Entry is via a shabby alleyway(Easy to miss the entrance ), Had to wait 20 minutes outside as no one answered the door, Breakfast was very basic, Only Boiled eggs available, Rest was Buffet style, There was a Kettle provided in the room but nothing else to make drinks, Hotel is very dated and needs a complete refurb to be honest, Water pressure was very poor so shower wasn't brilliant
