How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewwonderful location, very good price
important: if you take single room ask for no. 6 (lovely, with a view on little square) not no.4 (located at the back, just above the kitchen)

Verified reviewThe guesthouse was very clean and comfortable. Sharing the bathroom was no problem at all. There is a separate room for showering, and everything is kept very clean. The host was quite friendly, approachable, and answered all my questions. The bed was also very comfortable, and there was even a nice fan in the room. I enjoyed my stay here.
I can't think of anything.

Verified reviewLocation is great
Tiny room, no toilet or shower in the room. Both toilets and showers were shared, however in two different areas. The location is great, however not accessible by car and there seems to be no facilities for parking bicycles either. Not good value for money. Impossible for someone with fear of small spaces

Verified reviewGreat location, right in the center, yet we were able to sleep undisturbed at night, even though the square was quite lively. The rooms were somewhat smaller, simply furnished, and shared a bathroom (bathrobes are available), but they were perfectly adequate for less demanding travelers. Everything was clean. The hostess was very nice and helpful. We appreciated the free hot drink in the morning, which was offered to us even though we hadn't ordered breakfast. The REWE grocery store is practically around the corner across the square. There was no problem storing our luggage after check-out.
We are not very demanding, so practically nothing bothered us, except perhaps that there was only one toilet on the floor, but that didn't cause any problems. For people with limited mobility, the lack of an elevator can be a big problem, as the staircase and corridors are very narrow, as it is a very old building.

Verified reviewThe room was lovely and the location of the guesthouse was fantastic - very centrally located and most of the main sites are max a 15/20 minute walk. The room was very clean and the facilities were very modernised (shared bathrooms and showers have a lock), as well as offering a free tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the morning.
The room was extremely hot (we think 30+ degrees) in the middle of the Europe heatwave, and there was no air con. We were provided with one fan but told we couldn’t open the windows (we don’t know why) so the room was boiling all night and both me and my friend kept having to wake up intermittently to drink water or splash water on our faces to cool us down (so our sleep was pretty awful). The reception is also difficult to get hold of when you’re there, as it is automatically shut and you have to phone a number for the host to come and open it. But, if you’re a tourist from outside Austria, this will charge you to call which is frustrating. There is also no sink in the toilet (but one is provided in the room) so once going to the bathroom, you have to go back to your room to wash your hands. The room was also really expensive for the experience we had, and while nice, there may be better value for money options available

Verified reviewLocated on a quiet plaza at the far end of the Od Town in an 800 year old building.
Although there was a table fan in the room, it was hot & sunny for our stay. The room was very warm, although it cooled down at night with the windows open. For those with mobility issues & lots of luggage - there in no elevator. Breakfast was not included, but lots of cafe & a small BILLA grocery store nearby.

The old lady is being super rude during the check-in. Unlike a normal hotel, there is no place to store your luggage!

Verified reviewThe hotel was very clean and well maintained, and I received fresh towels every morning, as well as a big, comfy bathrobe. The room was small but no more than I needed. The location was perfect, away from the main tourist area but still close to shops and cafes, with a bakery right next door. I felt very safe in this location and with the locks and keys for the property—perfect for a solo traveler. Having a shared bathroom was no issue, as it was single-use at a time.

Verified reviewThe room was huge and the bed was comfortable. The shower water pressure is amazing. It was so easy to get to the airport in the morning - just hop on the train that is a minute walk to the hotel and then 1 stop to the airport!
Check in is a little confusing because you just walk into the restaurant. It's our fault we don't speak enough German, if we could ask questions it would have been easier, but everyone was friendly and the couple that runs the hotel did their best.
