Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Not having full en suite facilities was a challenge for us!
Staff were very welcoming and attentive. The location is stunning but a bit of a trek to get there. Dinner and breakfast were fabulous.

The WC is common on each level for the 2-3 rooms, not a problem for us, we knew each other.
If you look for absolute silence for an excellent sleep, this is the location. Up on the hill from Lochau, in the middle of empty fields and near the forest. The sightseeing of the Constantza lake is awesome. The house, hut style, built with good taste, perfectly integrated in the nature. Breakfast made on the instant, fresh and good smelling. By car 10 minutes down to Lochau, Bregenz. If you arrive late after 10 pm, you can find some open restaurants to eat in Bregenz, though most of them close at 10 pm.

Be aware that it is about 10km out of Bregenz up a steep hill. OK if you have hire car. Guesthouse also has steep stairs over 3 floors.
Nice guesthouse with lovely hosts who are also great cooks. Great dinner and breakfast.

The only things you need to consider is that the toilet is shared (one per floor) and small shower is inside rooms, you might find this uncomfortable. Other than that, NO problems at all!
Location of this place is just amazing! It is located on the tourist attraction of Bregenz: Pfaenderspitze. So, the views are just astonishing! Owners are very nice, breakfast is amazing, very tasty and fulfilling!

The shower directly in the room...
The localisation is perfect. You have an amazing view on the mountains and the lake. This is very quiet and lovely. Plus, the hotel staff are so welcoming and friendly

We were there a bit early in the season so no evening meal available. We couldn’t get the beer vending machine to work.
An amazing location at the top of the mountain. Stunning. Very pleasant and helpful owner and staff. A short walk from the cable car station which goes down to Bregenz. Quirky and interesting features, and a great breakfast room, with lovely breakfast food.

My bed was a little short (i am 1,8m tall)

Great service by Patrick and his team! We were met with enthusiasm and friendliness. We had a nice room with a lovely view of the mountains. The gasthof had loads of character, Good food, nice breakfast and good hikes nearby. What more do you want?

Not that we did not like it but found the property quite a distance on a country road but ounce arrived we thought it was worth the hilly & curved road leeding to the Gsthouse Moosegg
The personnel Owner was exceptionally friendly Dinner was also very good as it was a local dish Good breakfast

Beautiful place, situated perfectly atop the Pfändern. Perfect place for biking, and the staff is the sweaters. They helped me out of a lot of trouble ❤️

- the facilities are old and the rooms are not isolated against noise. There are common WCs on each floor and a very loud squeaky wooden staircase. As a result, I ended up waking up multiple times in the night and early morning, whenever someone went to the toilet or went up or down the staircase. This needs to be fixed. Apart from that, everything else was perfect!
- beautiful old traditional builiding - practical rooms with comfortable amenities (big TV screen, shower etc) nice view of the fields - ideal location for exploring the surroundings - very friendly staff

The owners are the nicest you will ever meet. At their restaurant, they invited us to their table for live music and schnapps. Best place to stay in Austria

I think each single bed needs more than one pillow: two or three would be ideal
