How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe food was okay, but that’s about the only good thing.
This hotel is a complete scam. On Booking.com, they show two different room options – one traditional and one renovated and modern. We paid more for the modern room, but they still gave us the old one. We didn’t accept this and argued that it was unacceptable – we had driven 600 km specifically to stay here, and the situation was just outrageous. The blonde receptionist just smiled mockingly and told us the rooms were the same category, even claimed we were “upgraded”! She told us to call Booking.com if we had issues – even though they are the ones who made the contract with Booking, not us. Eventually, they tried to change the room – but gave us another old-style one. We insisted they call the director. They kept saying the hotel was fully booked and we had no choice. They didn’t know we understand German – we heard them telling the director: “They booked a newer room but got the older one.” Only then did the director tell them to give us the modern room (which, by the way, had been reserved for someone else!). Later we saw other guests also arguing at the reception about getting lower-quality rooms. The same receptionist kept pretending she didn’t understand anything. Shameful. They lure people in with nice photos but give you something completely different. DO NOT BOOK HERE. Also, the modern room we booked was still showing as available on Booking.com while they were telling us the hotel was full – total lies. The courtyard was incredibly noisy, impossible to sleep. The spa area was a joke – half the saunas were turned off, the foot baths were completely dry. Not sure if you can even call it a spa – more like a place to lie on a sunbed and regret coming. Sympathy to anyone who has to deal with the blonde receptionist – the rudest and most arrogant staff member we’ve ever met. Dinner and breakfast were included, but every single drink at dinner cost extra, even juice – which is just ridiculous.

Verified reviewBreakfast was good, a standard offer.
The room was basic and smaller than expected and I believe given to me as I checked in as a single person. Other 'deluxe' rooms adjacent to mine were bigger and had more comfortable layouts. The room was situated just over the noisy, smoking area of the adjacent and associated bar so difficult to keep the window open or use the balcony. Dinner was basic compared to other hotels I have stayed in the immediate area.

Verified reviewI was very impressed with the hotel, and I would definitely recommend it to other travelers. The reception clerks were very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice. It was spacious, and it had a comfortable bed. I also had a nice view of the city from my balcony. The hotel is located in a great location, very close to the center of the city, and it is only a 3-minute walk from the Penkenbahn gondola. Overall, I had a great experience at the hotel and I would stay there again.
During my stay, I noticed two empty beverage cans on my room's balcony railing, likely left behind by a previous guest. While this spot was somewhat out of sight. The rest of the room and the hotel in general were quite clean. Therefore, I suspect this was an isolated oversight rather than a reflection of the hotel's overall housekeeping practices.

Verified reviewAmazing location, very comfortable hotel, great food. Restaurant staff were AMAZING! helpful, friendly, engaging and couldn’t do enough for you.
Bar staff were not particularly helpful or friendly, with drinks reported as being not available by one, with another saying: yes, of course we sell schnapps. Bar staff were often running around doing multiple jobs, leaving it difficult to order or reorder drinks.

Verified reviewFriendly and helpful staff everywhere. We had some special requests and problems (stolen ski boots), and the staff was friendly and helpful on every occasion.
Steep stairs down to the ski room and barely enough room for all skis.

Verified reviewWe met with lovely, friendly staff. We also like the diner a lot. There are plenty of free parking spaces, and the location is excellent: in the center of the town.
We received rooms facing a big local disco club 10 meters away. Every night, tens of people smoke, drink, and talk loudly outside the club until 1 or 2 a.m. Sometimes, they even shout at each other. Make sure you ask for a room on the other side of the hotel, which can significantly help you stay quiet. Nevertheless, the internet is not always good enough at night when you would watch YouTube videos.
