How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewComfortable, new and very clean room with a wonderful panoramic view. A big variety of salads as appetizer (for dinner ) saved actually the dinner, as the main course was quiet small. Impressive pleasant staff, smiling and very attentive with all the clients. A delicious breakfast with varied options of bread, cheese, bacon, sausages, eggs (fried), croissants and other baked goods.

Verified reviewAlthough we stayed at Hotel Huber for only one night, it was enough to make us want to return as soon as possible. We arrived late in the evening, and the staff was so kind, allowing us to enjoy the dinner included in our half-board reservation. The dinner was simply wonderful – one of the best meals we had in Austria! The place is charming, and the rooms we stayed in were beautiful, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The hospitality of the Huber family was warm, caring, and truly attentive. The only downside was that our stay was far too short. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality – we highly recommend this place!

Verified reviewWe LOVED this property and the experience of staying here. The staff was friendly and accomodating and everything was clean. We had breakfast and dinner daily and the meals were PHENOMENAL! There was so much food and all of it was amazing! This property is located in a very convenient location to everything offered and our room had a wonderful view from a patio.
If I were to get petty, the room decor is due for an update. The red carpet and orange curtains are dated. However, the room was very spacious.

Verified reviewThe food, the rooms, and the cleanliness were exceptional! There was a wide variety at breakfast, the room was spacious, and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The gym was relatively comfortable as well — I managed just fine there. It was excellent!
The bed was the only thing that wasn’t as good — unfortunately, it wasn’t very comfortable for us, even though it was very large and spacious.

Verified reviewVery nice dinner included in the half-board. fresh products and quality cuisine. Very good breakfast. Impeccable room nicely smelling of pine wood. And, a particularly friendly and well-educated staff, led by Mr. Huber who has a welcoming and goodbye word. Very pleasant manners indeed!
The bed was too hard. Even considering that I am a fairly tall and heavy man, the mattress could be a bit softer...

Verified reviewA big traditional room with convenient facilities. Quiet location, a bit off the very center of town. Achensee attractions are very close. Tasty dinner with salad/sweet bar, soup and the main dish, and buffet breakfast. Hotel bar is working late if you want a glass of beer on the terrace.

Verified reviewI stayed in a single room, for 1 person. The room was recently renovated, so everything was modern and pretty new, but with a flair of a cabin in the mountains. The dinner was excellent as well as the breakfast (which were included on the price of my stay). This was a last minute booking and the price i paid for accommodation plus the meals was really great. I like also the amenities in the room. The hand soap and the shampoos were very fine, with delicate scents. There was free parking with spots for charging electrical cars. After checking out, I had also the possibility to continue to use the hotel facilities to work remotely.
Checkout process was slow, as it has to be done manually and everyone waits until last minute to do it.

Verified reviewStaying at Huber Hochland was a surprise. Had booked for our tour through Austria. Booked Demi-pension and wondered how good it would be. Service and staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms was good, with balcony, good bathroom. And the food was fantastic. Had a lovely three course dinner—probably the best we’ve head so far I. A mo th of travelling. Breakfast buffet was very good with lots of choices. Would definitely go back.
