How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We've booked some hours in advance (quite late), but even so, I consider the hotel pricey. Indeed, it was early August and there's a lot of tourism in going on in Bregenz and nearby on Lake Bodensee. What I consider most unpleasant: the "not so clean" bathroom and shower. Usually Ibis keep their standards, this one is maybe an exception.
Helpful personnel, good location, good breakfast, average room size considering the Accor/Ibis standards.

The breakfast room staff and evening reception staff seem completely disinterested and are very slow. When room windows are open, street noise can be quite an issue.
The hotel is well located near the town and the Lake stage for the Bregenz opera festival.Everything is within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet is ok and the twin room is well set up.

I thought it was expensive as the room was quite small. We stayed for the week it could do with a bit more storage.
Loved the location and the breakfast it was fab. Staff were lovely and really friendly.

Not very clean - the en-suite was fine, but doors and light switches were very grubby
Had everything we needed, in the right place. Very good breakfast.

We have stayed at many IBIS hotels and unfortunately this one did not live up to our expectations. The air conditioning was almost nonexistent, the beds were 7/10 for comfort. The shower wasn’t great. There was no proper secure parking for bicycles although we were assured they had security cameras.
Good location. Quiet area. Overall a pleasant experience but they need to make a few improvements.

Clean and comfortable hotel. Breakfast was good. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. There was safe storage overnight for our bikes

Lovely property. Great stay. Great location My only criticism would be that on check in, the 2 staff on check in completely ignored me for 5 minutes while they finished their conversation. No acknowledgment. No comment to say they would be with me shortly. Just completely ignored me standing in front of them

The location is good. But driving there with google navigation is not that easy to reach with one effort. The road is a little complicated.
The breakfast is good. The room is somehow Ibis style with all funtion needed. The location is perfect with minites walk to the railway station and to the lake.

the hotel has very good reviews and went I stepped in my room.. what a deception. It is all super old, kinda clean overall but not especially well maintained. The breakfast was far being great, it felt like a lot of cheap products (eggs, bread.. ) even tho a few wear fresh.
The location is good as it is 2 min from the train station, the old town is quite easy accessible as well, not even 10min by foot. The receptionist was nice. The bath looked clean

All really better than expected.
Well located for city and lake as well as railway station. Excellent breakfast selection and well staffed with all requests such as for an extra pillow met instantly.

The hotel is located conveniently next to the train/bus station and within walking distance of the lake shore and old town. Moreover, there are supermarkets and shops nearby. The check-in/out at the hotel were fast. The staff are friendly and helpful.

There was no coffee/tea facility in the room. Shower cabine was not clean. It had black mould between the tiles.
It was very convenient to have access to underground parking, and the location was very good.
