Reviews of Hotel Johann

This is a very stylish hotel — I assume it was built quite recently. The rooms are simple but thoughtfully designed, with wooden accents nearly everywhere, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. Check-in took place in the restaurant located right inside the hotel, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. You can park either on the street in front of the hotel (which had plenty of free spaces overnight during my visit) or at the hotel’s own reserved parking spots just across the road.

One downside is the hotel’s location on a busy street. Since there’s no air conditioning, the windows need to be open on warmer days, which means some street noise can be heard. However, the windows are very well insulated — when closed, the room is perfectly quiet. Breakfast was served buffet-style, but it only included cold items and no hot dishes. Given the size of the hotel and the number of guests during my stay, I can understand that a more extensive breakfast selection might not be practical.

Breakfast was limited but tasty and fulfilling. The hotel advertised with noise-canceling windows; however it was not in room, just on ground floor where the restaurant is. For me that was the worst part as not possible to enjoy reading / studying / quiet time in the room. Bed mattress felt old as it is squeaky and out of shape. Room itself was bright, spacious. Bathroom is big but no space to hang stuff there, just one bar for a towel in the shower and quite inconveniently located next to sink. Restaurant was the highlight, they had some very tasty Thai curry and salad.

Nice big room.

No staff came to clean our bathrom. Wet floor and wet floor matt during the entire three day stay. No one emptied our bathroom bin. Disappointed that the floor remained wet and the towels were wet most of the time.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is perfect.

The hotel is far from the train station.There is no bus between them either.

The room was modern , very clean , fantastic view of the mountains and all the necessary facilities were available. Super in-house restaurant The 5 course tasting menu and wine pairing was expertly prepared and delicious. The owners were extremely pleasant and very accommodating.
