How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There was no airconditioning, looked pretty old and not updated.
Easy to find and get to. The lobby had a nice artsy vibe. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Car parking costs 25 EUR/day, and finding a free slot nearby is almost impossible. We even got a fine for short parking (36EUR). The hotel and all its amenities are old. In the room, the mattress is uncomfortable, and the carpet is from another era. You do not even get AC or a freezer unless you pay extra.
Good location, close to tram and metro stations, close to Mariahilfer Street (shopping street).

The TV did work right and didn't had a kids program. But is not really that bad. It's still was a good experience.
The breakfast was really good and the room was really clean. And everybody was really kind and helpful.

Very hot in the room and probably needed something else other than just the fan.
Staff were really friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early. Location was good with the station just behind. Room was good too!

Rooms need total renovation. Rooms on the first floor facing the street need sound proof windows. All voices from the people in front of the entrance are loudly. Also delivery cars.

Location is not comfortable for families, although I selected a premium room it was small, blanket is not sufficient for person 177cm, The curtain was bad, the light was too high in the room since dawn. Not suitable to take room without AC in summer.

It’s an old hotel so you gotta keep that in mind, but it’s definitely a great place to stay at!
Close to Westbahnhof and Stadthalle. Right next to Gürtel so pretty loud if you open the window. When it’s closed you can’t really hear the traffic.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Hotel is located just next to the Westbahnhof Train and Underground Station. Not noisy. We used the U3 metro to get to Stephenplatz & Vienna city centre. Very convenient location. There are lots of shops & eateries as well as Billa supermarket nearby. From Westbahnhof Train Station, we were able to catch an early morning Westbahn train to Salzburg.

A staff at the bar (wearing glasses) was rude and dismissive to my partner along with other guests. We witnessed this behaviour on 2 different occasions

The room didn't have air conditioner, they did have a fan. However the room was very warm and with 30+ degree quite uncomfortable to sleep in being so warm.

I have stayed at this hotel before, as it is an easy walk from the Westbahn train station, when I am returning from Salzburg and staying overnight before flying out of Vienna. The Westbahn station has both trains as well as subways, so it's easy to get around Vienna as well. They also have a supermarket (Billa?), which is open on Sundays, unlike many other supermarkets in Vienna. I think I upgraded to a larger room this time and I was satisfied with the room. I cannot comment on the breakfast as I had to leave earlier.

Sounds can travel. I stayed four nights: the first three were really quiet (no traffic noise) but on the last night,two guests next door chatted into the night (2am)! They weren't talking loudly (so I couldn't really complain) - but I could still hear them through the wall. This is my only complaint about an otherwise perfect stay!

The room was smaller than expected.
The room is quite small, and the bathroom is also compact. I would suggest increasing the room size and adding more amenities to enhance the overall comfort and experience.
