Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChinaVery lovely unique property. Set right on the lake. Each buggy had a history of its own explained by our host, Lea. Great outdoor spaces for gathering. The family was very inviting and kind and always available for anything we needed. Lea even called a local restaurant and made dinner reservations for us! Highly recommend!!!!

United StatesFor the price, breakfast was not included and was a little on the pricey side. (Tasty but pricey)
The views were exceptional. It was very quaint and unique. The staff and owners were really friendly and helpful during our entire stay.

United StatesSpotty wifi at times in the area due to storms, but not really the fault of the property. Plan to disconnect and be a little more off the grid when visiting this area and property, especially if you are planning an extended trip. The bathrooms and shower are on the smaller side so really tall folks might feel a bit cramped.
This is an exceptional property if you want to get out of the standard tourist areas. The wagons are cozy, the location is picturesque and the bedding is the best I've ever had the pleasure of relaxing in! This property and close by town of Obertraun is on the quieter side of lake Hallstatt. This area is best explored with a car and bike rental. We are tourists from America and noticed that most of the folks staying here were locals or German/Austrian tourists so this is a well kept secret from the tourists all staying in town Hallstatt.

AustriaThe breakfast starts at 9 am, which might not be convenient for early birds. It's not applicable to us, as we initially didn't plan to have any. This is just to warn other visitors, so there are no bad surprises - it's clearly stated at Hotel's info though!
It's a magic place! The hotel is by the lake, surrounded by the forest. Peaceful, beautiful, clean and breathtaking! We stayed in Belladonna wagon - fantastic experience. The staff at the reception (shame on us, we were so tired that forgot to ask the name of a beautiful lady) is very friendly, helpful and nice. The whole facility is very well maintained, with respect and love to the history and details. I wish we could have stayed longer but even one day/evening at the lake, watching the sunset reflected in the water, enjoying the peace, sounds of nature, a cup of coffee is a gift!

Italythe check in schedule, check in ends at 19.00 - we really rushed on the highway (i know - not smart) to arrive on time and we arrived 10 min late. The owner was really kind to allow us too check in and we are very grateful, but whe had a very stressful trip from Vienna to the place. Also, Breakfast is overpriced.
we enjoyed the location, the little and charming bungallows, the rich breakfast and the outstanding multilingual staff. Additionally, the activities to do are numerous (biking, hiking, kayaking...) if you would like to avoid the touristy Hallstadt. You can go by bike anywhere, even to hallsdtatt. We drove from Vienna to the localtion of the hotel. however, you can also arrive to hallstadt by train and then rent a bike to the place; or travel to town of Obertraun (Obertraun train station is 20 min walk from the hotel). The staff will recommend (and make the bookings fro you) at many great and good quality restauratnts.

Czech RepublicThe early check out time is a challenge. A little more time in the morning to soak in the uniqueness and beauty of the accommodation and to have a slower start to the day would have added to the enjoyment of this special place.
These unique and lovely gypsy wagons on the very edge of the lake, deliver everything promised for a wonderful stay and more. Everything was spotless and it is evident that a lot of love and care went into the creating and upkeep of these capsules of history. The property itself are lovingly taken care of and the surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful.

United StatesThis is a great place. To fully enjoy it, embrace the rustic aspect of staying in a Romani caravan. It’s curated, and the owner loves what they are doing. All you need is to bring a bottle of wine, and let you mind go back 100 years and embrace it.

United StatesThe property is run by a husband and wife along with their adult daughter, and a dedicated staff. It seems there is quite a lot of work for this small team and when something goes wrong (a guest doesn't follow directions and crashes his camper into a bush, for example) it slows the process of check-in and check-out. (We commend the owners for their patient response.) This was not a problem for us particularly, but could be frustrating to a guest who was on a specific timeline to get to another destination.
The most unique and interesting place we stayed on our 35th-anniversary trip was Park am See. We stayed in one of the restored caravans, La Mandragora, instead of the usual B and B or hotel. While I don't think I would want permanently live in a caravan, it was wonderful for a few days. The owners are interesting and have backgrounds in the history of food and of art. They shared interesting stories about how they acquired and restored the caravans and lodges on the property. From our conversations, it seems they are interested in preserving this unique location and sharing it with others. This is a campsite, so there are camping vans, people in tents, and unique lodges all on the property. Our location was quiet and close to the lake. We opted to pay extra for breakfast, which we enjoyed very much. We were presented a selection of fresh produce, beautifully cooked eggs, and a variety of meats and bread. One morning we had breakfast inside and the next we had it out on the porch. The owners helped us make a reservation at a local restaurant that offered a delicious meal and seemed full of both regular locals and tourists. The location of Park am See was perfect if you have a vehicle. The area was more peaceful than Halstatt, which was so crowded and presented challenges for parking. We opted to drive around to Obertraun and take the boat across to Hallstatt. The boat ride was pleasant, gave us a unique view of Hallstatt, and helped us avoid the crazy parking problems there. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend this as a fantastic experience.

AustriaWe had to wait quite long at the check out (check in was fine as there was only one person before us), the process of check in and out seemed quite outdated and could be fastened, one staff member told us quite unfriendly to leave the reception and wait outside the building, as we waited the queue just got longer and longer and the staff seemed not to care
It really is a unique place to stay, we loved the lodge “Belladonna” we stayed in, everything was clean, we were very surprised by the comfort of the toilet and the bathroom as it was similar to a normal house, there was a private beach only for lodge residents with grass, trees and two chairs with a stunning lake view, the owner told us some interesting facts about the lodge, place was not very crowded so it felt like we had the lake and beach all to ourselves We will surely come back to check out other lodges!

United KingdomCalm, peaceful with stunning scenery. The Park was family run and our hosts were warm, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and there was a lovely terrace to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Our cabin was cosy and elegant and a delightful home from home during our trip. We chose to stay outside Hallstatt, and on reflection it was a good decision as the views across the lake in the evening where lovely.
