How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It could have been beneficial to have a small oven as well as the stove and microwave for cooking.
We stayed in a two bedroom apartment that was well equipped to meet all basic needs and very clean and comfortable. The family that own the hotel were very warm and welcoming and answered all our many questions before and during our stay. The hotel is well located, within 10 minutes walk of the beautiful Lake Wolfgangsee, bus stop and cable car. We would love to come back in the future.

Perfect little hotel in a perfect little town. We had a lovely week in a cozy and fully-equipped apartment with two kids. Everything was in walking distance. Would love to come back.

Beds were a bit firm for our liking. Breakfast was served at 8.00 which was a late start to our day, especially when the sun rises at 5.30am.
Excellent breakfast and helpful staff. Our corner room (#31) was a comfortable size with large balcony overlooking St. Gilgen. Hotel was within 5 to ten minute walk of grocery store, bus stops, restaurants, and served as our base to explore the lakes region. Good value for the area.

Could do with a kettle in my room.
The location is very good. Also the staff are excellent and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful.

The mattress was very soft and so were the pillows
The room was very comfortable and especially the heated floors in the bathroom. Lots of space and very clean. The carpets comfortable. Lots of light in the room, it was an excellent breakfast lots of choices

Not the best welcome... We didn't feel welcomed at all! But yeahhh... It's ok!
The room was clean and perfect with a small balcony to enjoy in the evening. Position is great with the possibility to park. Breakfast was perfect.

We stayed at this pension for a couple of nights at the start of our Austria road trip. Marcus & his family are gracious hosts. Our room on the second floor was quite spacious with a big balcony facing the road. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were flat. The linen was spotless and clean. The bathroom was modern with a great shower & hot water. The breakfast was excellent and varied including scrambled & boiled eggs, cold cuts, various breads, fresh fruits etc. to please every palate. Free parking was available. Just a couple of things for improvement. 1. A coffee & tea maker to be provided in the room and 2. Breakfast starts only at 8am even in the summer when the sunrise is around 5am. An early start time for breakfast (around 7am or 7.30am) will greatly help all travellers. Location of the pension is convenient as all sights are within walking distance.

Carpet was wet and smelled a little

A little bit outdated furniture but totally sufficient for 2 nights.
Hassle-free stay in a sufficiently spacey room. The breakfast was quite rich and varied with some local products. Restaurants, Cafés etc. within walking distance.

We LOVED the friendliness and helpfulness of Markus, the General Manager/owner. He is delightful and we looked forward to greeting him at breakfast every morning. The beds were super comfortable and the location is superb.
