Bart and Ingrid were exceptional hosts. Their kindness, generosity and attention to every detail made our stay truly memorable. Everything is immaculate, clean and tidy and a most delicious breakfast is served every morning. We did not want to leave.

What is there NOT to like about Pension Kitty? First, Barry is an absolutely wonderful host! He was incredibly cheerful, accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. When we arrived, he gave us a full tour and recommended restaurants to us in the area. At breakfast, he made homemade bread every day which was absolutely fantastic- I'm pretty sure I had 4 slices of it on our last day. ;) Barry also makes homemade yogurt and smoothies - which were really fun. We just felt incredibly welcomed the entire time we were there. And if Barry's hospitality isn't enough to draw you in - the quality of the room will! We came to Europe for 6 weeks and this place EASILY had the best bed, pillows, etc. The bed was so comfortable - we didn't want to leave. I know I'm writing about the toilet paper but seriously, it was QUALITY and the towels weren't the scratchy white towels you get in every other hotel, they were actually soft and cozy. It was just the little things. My husband and I especially loved that we had access to the coffee maker in the breakfast room at any time of day - we hadn't experienced that before and it was a nice touch. We also loved the mini coffee maker and fridge in the room - really nice! Barry, I hope you read this: sincerely, you are such an incredible host and we comment often about how wonderful our trip was to visit you and your lovely guest house! Thank you for brightening our mornings with your whistling and for your wonderful music played at breakfast - you were the only place to play non-top 40 music hits ;P

Location and tranquility. Barry and Sigrid are excellent hosts and make you feel at home during your stay. My room was spacious with excellent facilities. There is also a balcony you can sit out on and relax. The breakfast included is superb homemade smoothies, bread, cheeses, meats etc to get your day moving in the right direction. There is even a 17 year old cat who's name escapes me for all you cat lovers. Who loves his belly rubbed.

There was a lot of flowers and plants and they were very beautifull. The garden is stunning. The room and the kitchen was modern. Breakfast was delecious and had lot of various foods and drinks to choose from. The host was very kind and friendy they made our stay much more enjoyable. I would recommend this place for anyone. Beach, store, trainstation are very close by foot.

Fantastic hosts who were very helpful and friendly. Exceptional attention to detail, especially with the breakfast which included lots of home made muesli, granola, bread, yoghurt, smoothies and fruit juices. Also a very good coffee machine. Another nice touch was the reasonably priced self service drinks fridge. Handy location near train station and short walk to the shore of Lake Worthersee. Room was comfortable and well presented. Highly recommended.

I have never experienced such a friendly welcome as we received from the Barrys. The breakfast was beyond expectations, full of self-made products, smoothies and own bread, it was incredibly delicious. The equipment of the room is like that of a four-star hotel, delicious aroma, coffee, tea, full equipment. Thank you very much for everything!

Well the railway station is really near, the windows and insulation is good, you almost can't hear them, but if you have trouble sleaping, you do have to acount for that there are trains pasing near by and some noise is generated. For us it wasn't a problem.

The owners are so so very kind and nice, they helped us out with everething that we asked them, really hard to describe, it was almost like home. The room was big enough and the balcony was nice. A warm enviroment all together. The location is perfect, 5min walk to the lake, the centre, and the railway station where you can go to major cities. The train departs every 25min. Amazing experience altogether.

For sake of transparency, I could hear the train when it was passing by from the nearby rail. However it did not disturb me at all. In the long term, to make the experience beyond perfect, I would recommend having noise-cancelling windows. Once again, the train was no nuissance whatsoever and did not affect my experience at all.

Extremely friendly staff, home-like feeling and treatment! The owner offered freshly baked muffins, he makes sure everything is perfect keeps asking to ensure that. Very pleasant experience to be repeated!

Highly recommended! The hosts Sigrid and Barry love and know what they do and have brought small guesthouse hospitality to a new level! They are very flexible to accommodate guest requests. 1. It starts with the booking experience: My address was in Belgium, that is why I got a swift personalised reply in Flemish/Dutch! I could not extend my booking for another two nights, so I made a second booking. The host managed to make me stay in the same room! Communication is friendly, clear and fast. 2. The location is in walking distance from the train station (take rear exit) and can be reached without any stairs - hence very convenient if you have a suitcase to pull. Immediate attendance on arrival, including an explanation of the facilities. 3. I inquired if I could iron clothes and I got an iron and an ironing board instantly. 4. You can always brew coffee freshly from the machine - free of charge! 5. THE BREAKFAST!!! Home-made smoothies (every day a different one) and yoghurt, self-baked bread and cakes (e. g. muffins), local juices, fruits and jams combine with tasty bread rolls, croissants, ham, cheese and much more. All fresh! Press the high-end coffee maker to enjoy your cappuccino, milk coffee, black coffee, coffee latte, etc. 6. We had an early start for a one-day trip once and could take a breakfast package with us. How nice to enjoy home-made delicious food from Pension Kitty on the shores of Lake Bled in Slovenia! 7. When checking out, you get the printed bill with the still remaining city tax to be paid: The amounts were fully in line with what had been indicated on booking.com. 8. If you want to have your luggage stored after check-out, it can be locked away - even for a day! Sigrid and Barry gave up their jobs to dedicate themselves fully to Pension Kitty. As a guest, you can feel that this is more than a job for them, it is their dedication. Very impressive what this couple with their lovely daughters manages!

Exceptionally friendly hosts (Barry & Sigrid), good coffee & breakfast, 5 min (400m) walk from Pörtschach/Wörthersee train station (every 30 min S-train to Klagenfurt, 20 min), parking just outside the building, small balcony for each room, small garden in front. Very close to Edelweissbad (lake). If you stay at least one night in a hotel etc. in Kärnten, you can use ÖBB regional & S-train for free during your stay :-)
