How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Most of the staff were very friendly, about 10% had abysmal behaviors. The situation with the hotel „Das Traunsee“ about direct access to the lake is not ideal, the Traunsee staff handled guests from the Post as second class.

Verified reviewthe room was very spacious, and the location and view were amazing. The pool and spa were clean and well-maintained, and the view from the pool was simply breathtaking. The hotel’s restaurant was lovely, with delicious food, and the breakfast was exceptionally good. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay.
When we checked in, we noticed a few issues, such as used towels on the hanger and some marks in the room. We contacted reception, and they promptly sent someone to clean. The staff handled the matter quickly and professionally, which we appreciated. The only downside was that the room did not have an air conditioner.

Verified reviewA perfect getaway location. Everything is thoughtfully designed and created with purpose. The rooms are cozy, the breakfast was incredible, and the town feels like it’s straight out of a postcard. The cocktails in the bar were some of the best we’ve had!
The spa has a single pool, and it can become busy and a bit lively at times, especially when other guests’ children are present.

Verified reviewRoom, bed and bathroom were comfortable, modern, clean and good. The problem was that the room was very hot. There was no aircon, which I expected from a 4 star hotel of this standard. For sustainability reasons perhaps? But then they could at least have a fan. Because of the heat, we had to open the window, and as the hotel is in the centre of the village, we were kept awake until 2am by people yelling, singing and partying very loudly in the square below. I did not expect a tiny village to be this noisy on an ordinary Tuesday night. So a hot and noisy night. Other than that, everything good, excellent breakfast, great view of the lake from our room. Nice spa area with great lake view.
No aircon or even a fan in the room, so very hot unless you opened a window, which made it impossible to sleep bc of street noise.

Verified reviewBeautiful and well loved boutique hotel. Details and attentions in every step. Very clean and comfortable. Large balcony overlooking the lake. Free parking in the back of the property. Exceptional restaurant on site. So many items to choose at breakfast. You can even cut your own vegetable. Umbrella available. Powerful hair dryer. You can name anything and I still cannot think of any fault to pick on. 10/10

no information on the Spa at check-in, Spa is poorly sign posted and no reception desk. Nobody advised us that there is a proper sauna / steam section at the very far end of the relaxation lounge on floor 6. The sauna and steam etc. closes at 8pm, a very strange timing for a resort hotel where most guest are doing outdoor activities, sailing, hiking, skiing in winter, during the day and would not return until 6pm...

Verified reviewReally nice hotel (we stayed in the back building) with good design which is not very common in Austria. The room was very nice, the view fantastic, bed, pillow and blanket surely above local standards, very comfortable. The breakfast was also great. And we also liked Beleatage restaurant on the first floor - really good food and design (little tired and unwelcoming appearance from outside).
The spa area was way too busy. We had adults only room so we were confused if the hotel is kids frienly or not and did not find it out, but we expected adults only hotel from our booking conditions - little disapointment in the swimming pool, hard to properly relax. The service was ok, they tried to be helpful and some of them were, English and attitude was sometimes an issue. The hotel is very nice so I am noting what should be improved for the highest standard ... but was definitely the best experience in Austria we had during last 20 years. Worth going.

Would be nice if parking was included in the price. Minor issue and I know space is limited.

Verified reviewBreakfast selection and quality was absolutely amazing, room was spacious, and fully equipped with what we need and more! Facilities were better than expected, you cannot miss its swimming pool, sauna, morning yoga sessions, and also the location of where it is located right across Traunsee. We also managed to kayak on our last day, it was absolutely breathtaking.
It is difficult to come without a car and thankfully we came with a car. You might need to think how you'd come without one as it is quite a distance from the train station.
