How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLocation is perfect in the center of Vienna, we traveled as a group. I booked two rooms and they were clean and tidy. Over all we enjoyed our stay at the propriety and I will book it agin whenever I will come back to Vienna. Self Check in was easy and clear as they send you all information for that, I only was confused about the main entrance of the building I took a few minutes until I recognized it I will share a photo of the main entrance gat of the property. When I checked out we left our bags in the service office for 4 hours as they work until 11 pm then we collect them back and went to the airport, they were helpful and kind. Thank you guys.

Verified reviewShower worked perfectly, liked the keyless system and liked that they left free bottles of water and two small bottles of wine even though we don’t drink . The location is central, it’s near the buses, trams and Metro and also near the train station from the Airport.
The bed let us down as it was the softest bed I’ve ever slept in. It didn’t do good for my back and didn’t get a proper sleep.

Verified reviewI like that it had a coffee maker and a fridge both stocked with coffee and drinks. Everything was clean the bathroom had body wash. The towel rack worked well easy to use. The location was perfect soundproof a view of the street, but it wasn’t noisy right next to a market very convenient. It was by many things, but it wasn’t in an obnoxious touristy location felt safe. You enter the building with a code. You have to enter the code several times to get into several doors annoying but safe.
Lack of communication I emailed the property about providing a do not disturb sign which they did not. My first day there was no need for them to come in and swap the towels which were hanging, and there is a sign that says if the towels are hanging, they will not be replaced . Someone came in took the towels left a couple coffees did not leave anything else. It was unsettling and a bit odd because it was around 2 PM . I just checked in the day before. I had to continuously leave signs to not enter. On my last day the cleaning crew was literally outside of the door waiting, which was creepy and weird. I did let them know. There is no do not disturb sign that they should put one in there. The pillows were uncomfortable.

First of all, I thought I requested not a daily Cleaning staff…they showed anyways, and I just didn’t say anything at the time. The cleaning staff were inconsistent with cleaning times and felt a bit disrespected when they came late, and I was busy for the next hour; they didn’t clean my room That day. Also, the first day there it appeared they went through my medication bag and didn’t close the lid on my daily pill box which spilled into my bag, and then noticed one out of six of my emergency muscle relaxers was missing. I locked them after that. Otherwise, my stay was wonderful.

Verified reviewExtremely good location, bus from the airport arrives like 200-300m from the hotel. Also there is a spark in the same building. All historical places are accessible via walk. There is a bar street just around the corner.
I got room with 2 small mattresses instead of one big. Walls are thinner than wanted and sometimes you hear noise from the neighbors.

Verified review1. The check-in/check-out process was very smooth, thanks to the clear instructions provided. We also appreciated the warm welcome letter waiting for us in the apartment. 2. Excellent location – just 500 meters from Stephansplatz, making it easy to explore the city. 3. The room was small but cozy and well-equipped with everything we needed: air conditioner, coffee machine, hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, refrigerator, safe, TV, etc. 4. Daily room cleaning was a nice touch and kept everything fresh. 5. The apartment is located on a quiet and safe street – we felt comfortable
