Excellent hostel, very clean rooms, nice location close to Krems centrum and the Passau-Vienna bicycle path. Very nice breakfast, comfortable bed, quiet place. I can recommend it!!

For about 15 minutes, I had some difficulty to check in, but that was my fault. The hostel was locked, and nobody was around, and at first I did not notice that I already got a message via the booking app, about a key locker. When I arrived, I met a French couple who wanted to spend the night here, but they did not have reservation. They complained that nobody is around, and nobody picks up the phone. The phone number written on the door, and the phone number on booking.com did not match (even different number of digits!) and none of those phone numbers worked (nobody answered), although it was already after 17h and the check-in starts at 17h. We were pretty disappointed and I thought they are lucky because they can go to any other place to stay, but I already paid for my room here, I just cannot get in, and cannot contact anyone. Fortunately, after some time I checked my booking app and saw the message; so then I got in and everything was fine. Bottomline is: always check your messages on booking app!

Affordable

I couldn’t check in as I didn’t have a cell phone so couldn’t call the number, no one was there. I walked to tourist information and they tried calling for me but no answer. I had to wait again. Then a stranger gave me her phone to try after 1 hour waiting. Not good enough

Quick and easy check-in combined with breakfast served with a smile made more a comfortable overnight stay. No frills or extras, just quality.

I liked the location.

The lack of communication. The only way I was able to be let in was through a neighbour seeing I was trying to figure out how to get in and they called the owner. I don’t actually know how I would have gotten in if they didn’t help me. Not a single message or communication at all until the very last morning where all the said was “all that’s left is the tourist tax”. The shower was absolutely horrendous. Felt like a hose would have done a better job. The beds were stained and dirty. The breakfast was ok but the food was kept in the fridge uncovered and unhygienic for sure. I’m glad I enjoyed the area and how beautiful the surrounding towns were cause I did not enjoy where I was staying.

Right on the Danube bike path & close to the old town + a grocery store (Hofer). It was nice to cook our own dinner for a change!

All good, comfortable room, good location. just one point: usually, the self check-in instructions arrive a day or so in advance, but since not everyone has internet roaming!, and it could catch guests off guard

This place is basically a youth hostel. Given the type of accommodation and the very low price, it is actually a nice option and that is how you should read the rating "8". Easy self-checkin. Good breakfast exceeded expectations. Just 8 minutes walking to the city center. It is a very simple accommodation but you have your own room, your own bathroom, and decent breakfast included. Overall quite good for the price.

The bathroom was not great and the fixed shower was quite difficult to take in the small space and water flowing just to one particular spot.

Comfortable bed, self checkin, warm shower, good location. It is a youth hostel, you have to set your expectations at that level, and remember what you paid for it. As good or better as some of the Guest houses we have stayed in. Sufficient breakfast in pleasant breakfast room. Good bike storage.

It was very hot at the time and a fan would have made all the difference.

Such an easy check in process! And the room was lovely. I especially appreciated the safe bike storage and the USB ports in the room so I could charge several items at once

A clean, quiet and comfortable room with an enjoyable breakfast. A lovely garden in a surprisingly quiet location.

There is no one there when you arrive. It was hard to gain entry without a working phone.

Good location for bike trips, right next to the Donau bike route and with very good and secure bike parking. Instructions to get in were very clear and breakfast was good!

A bit noisy in the night from the street when the window is open but nothing major.

Hotel simple but very comfortable and friendly. The innkeeper was very nice and helpful. A generous breakfast. A very comfortable mattress. Good position, about 10 min walking from town centre and rail station

Actually there was nothing that I did not like. To be honest I shall say, it was January and we were only three people in the whole hotel. I cannot say how it is in summer when it is probably full. But I will surely try it
