How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewHotel Schani UNO City is a modern, spotless, and stylish hotel with convenient access to the U1 metro and Vienna’s main sights. The staff was friendly, the digital check-in made everything seamless, and the breakfast had everything needed to start the day.
The hotel area is beautiful, near parks and lakes! However, a metro, bus, or taxi is needed to reach the centre.

Verified reviewThe hotel was close to the metro station, which made transportation convenient. Also, it was so clean and well-decorated and comfortable.
The rooms were far from the reception, and it was a long way to get to the rooms. Moreover, the room did not have a fridge to store water and drinks.

Verified reviewFantastic hotel and wonderful stay. The hotel is modern and features a nice design style, not a generic one. A great quality of fittings and very clean. The staff was super nice and helpful, breakfast had many choices, I also had two lunches at the hotel restaurant, and both were very nice. The location is perfect for a conference centre and the airport transfer bus stop is in front of the hotel, making the travel a breeze. Would totally recommend to everyone!

Verified reviewWell designed family room. Clean, stylish and modern. Perfect for a family of 4. Location was perfect for Danube Island which is what we wanted.
Pillows were a little too soft. Tricky to balance temperature in the main room with the kids room which was colder with only one control. Bathroom layout meant that privacy was also tricky.

Verified reviewVery quick and easy to checkin. Staff very helpful when we needed iron and board it was provided quickly. Hotel foyer is lovely its nice to sit there. Dining areas also great especially outside. Rooms very good bathroom and shower facility also decent. Beds comfortable. Location good a short metro ride and you are in the city and westfield shopping and resturants are 2 stops away. Donau Park very close by as is the river if you want to go boating.
No mini fridge would be nice to put drinks. Breakfast very expensive at 25 euro a person this is a bit much and you dont have many options nearby.

Verified reviewOur request for gluten free option for (paid) breakfast met with great response, outright solving one of few problems we expected during our stay in Vienna. The hotel and the facilities are new, and there is option to buy some essential supplies like slippers, shaving kits or drinks/snacks from vending machine on the floor. The requested iron was provided swiftly. The bar is very nice, with an inner garden and even some gluten free options available in the hot dish menu.
If anything, some minor conveniences could be added to the rooms - there was a kettle, but no dedicated cups for drinking or bagged tea. But this is just a minor issue.

Verified reviewWe arrived 4 hours before the official check-in time, but the staff were extremely polite and kindly arranged to change our room so we could check in early. We were very tired, and it would have been difficult to wait in the lobby for several hours. Their cooperation, politeness, and thoughtfulness were truly appreciated.
The only downside was the lack of a small fridge in the room, as it was inconvenient at night to go downstairs whenever we needed water or to keep a drink chilled.

Tea and coffee amenities should be and complimentary in the room like nearly all other hotels in Vienna.

Verified reviewHotel location. Walking distance to many places to go swimming in the Danube river and swimming pools, at a reasonable cost. And a short walk to the train station to get into the city centre. Also bus stop for the airport bus is only a few minutes walk away. Lovely and quiet in the room. Convenient luggage room available if you need to store your items after check-out.
What was odd was that the room with the toilet didn't have a sink. So you had to walk to the room with the shower and sink, which is not ideal or hygienic. Breakfast staff are really great, however staff at dinner weren't attentive or not around when needed. Asked for more water from a waitress and she didn't see the empty plates to take away. Also slow service and average food when husband went to eat a 2nd night. The people at Reception are happy to help, however no warm welcome. Also, when I asked one of them to recommend where to go swimming and where to have dinner, she didn't mention the many swimming places or restaurants walking distance away. I eventually found them through an online search. It feels the staff just do what is needed but don't have true customer service. The staff are young and perhaps just don't have the experience or willingness to go above and beyond. We opted to only have our room cleaned once during our stay, which is fine however they didn't give clean cups and teaspoons when the room was cleaned, so I had to go to Reception to get some. The bedside lamp switched off automatically just after 12am and wasn't able to be switched on again. The main lights worked but the rest of the family were sleeping. And the bathroom light switched off too while I was in the shower!
