How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewNice mountain hut, homemade meals, great location with views
In summer the access to the hut is through a forest road. If you have the option highly recommend arriving via SUV or some car with higher chassis to save you some stress. If you do not mind walking, then arriving via the cable from Saalbach and then walking 2km could also be an option Be prepared for 20 eur/night fee for dog as well as small fees if you want to have a soup or a dessert

Verified reviewBeautiful location in the mountains. Fantastic views from the terrace. Many hiking routes around (but not so much shade on the routes I found). The dinner was very tasty both night.
I was surprised by the 20 eur per night dog fee - more that double the dog fee price of my last accommodation and the most expensive I have payed anywhere in Europe the last two years traveling with my dog. It was especially a surprise as the accommodation was otherwise very good value for a small basic single room with shared bathroom and half board.

Verified reviewExcellent location, couldn't be more ski-in ski-out. Accommodation was very clean and staff were friendly, the food quality was excellent. Waking up with an on-mountain view was fantastic (see photo). We were worried about making the last lift on the day we travelled out but then found out that the hotel will pick you up (for €20/ head) if you get stuck, which made it a much more relaxing journey.
Limited choice of breakfast and the starters and dessert were not included in the half board price.

Verified reviewBeatiful view, however from the tiny room window You couldn't see much..
Already the road up to the Simal Alm was in really bad condition. With a normal passanger car You will have difficulties. At the arrival I told to the lady that just like as we agreed during the phonecall, I will need a company invoice. During the call she said we can talk about it when I arrive, but when I arrived she said that they can give me only a regular bill. When I explained that it's important for me because it's a business trip, a man came out from the kitchen and told me: "Don't overcomplicate!" The room was super small and when I arrived, all heating was switched off, but even when I switched it on, the room stayed super cold and i had to sleep in winter jacket. On Booking.com was written that the room has it's own bathroom but it only had a sink, no own toilet or shower.

Verified reviewThe owner's behavior towards the guests was one of the worst I have ever experienced. Even arriving at the place was a big problem. Due to the traffic situation, we were not able to get to the place in time and arrived several hours late. The owner started verbally attacking us for not following the rules. What were we supposed to do? We didn't get the dinner we paid for. He didn't even give us a refund. Then followed several more unpleasant appearances. The owner's behavior towards the children was unbelievable. She pushed the kids away from the breakfast bar several times without apology. Just a detail: she ended up hiding the candy on the bar from them as well. After these experiences we decided to leave the accommodation and found another one. I would like to warn all visitors to this place to consider whether they want to support this accommodation and spend money here.

Verified reviewThe property is very beautiful, it’s clean, cosy. Beautiful views of the alps. The food is good, maybe a bit more variety in the breakfast. The dinner menu always changed everyday and we looked forward to coming back to the hotel after a long day of skiing to a nice 3 course meal at the hotel. The main course is included in the room price, you can choose to get a starter and a desert. They are priced reasonably, 3euros each.
There was nothing we didn’t like about the property.

Verified reviewIdeal location, perfect view, first on skislopes, friendly staff, always clean, heated skishoe lockers, good food, comfortable beds, private sauna, friendly owners have created a place we would call home.
Since it is located on the ski slopes, light sleepers might be bothered by snowploughs at night if your room is on hill side.
