Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaInternet did not work while we were there. Also, the procedure to obtain the keys did not run smoothly. The appartment was not ready at 14:00. Then the machine that gives the card had instructions only in German; and it stalled a few times. On the whole, it took us almost one hour to get inside the property.
The appartment is very clean, with all facilities. The area is fine, with a good number of shops around. There are excellent public transport to the main attractions.

Czech RepublicNo wardrobe in our room, room clean but not spotless clean. The area was not really pretty but that’s given the close proximity to the train station. To get to the building you have to present your debit/credit card. It's bit confusing.
Self-checking option, close to the tram stop.

AustraliaThe apartment we were in was not air conditioned as advertised. When we questioned this, we were advised that it had a water based heating/cooling system in the roof. But the air conditioning controls were still in place giving the impression it was air conditioned, plus there were also instructions in the room on how to use it. We were told to keep it cool by keeping the windows closed and the outside blinds down. This meant no fresh air and made no difference to the air temperature. We would suggest they install a fan to circulate the air as it was stifling. The bathroom ventilation fan did not come on at all. The apartment is supplied with an induction hot plate, but an aluminium fry pan was supplied, which does not work on an induction stove. The apartment advertised there was a laundromat in Quellenstrasse approximately 100 metres away, but this is now a pharmacy.
The location to public transport is excellent and close to local shops.

The apartment was nice and clean, and we were regularly provided with fresh towels. The property is not in the city centre, but is very near to transport links to get into the city easily. There is a Lidls nearby, just a few minutes walk.

SloveniaCleanliness was not ok. There was dust everywhere, especially in bathroom. Apartment is a little bit worn-out too. I didn’t like the bed, a mattress was sagged and a bedside table was worn out. There was enough toilet paper and towels, although some towels should be changed for new. A kitchen is not well stocked and a dining table is not perfect (only two chairs). There are also no bins or bags for separate waste, which is rather unusual.
Connection to public transport is great; U-bahn is few minutes away, tram stops in front of hotel. There are incredibly many shops, markets, several supermarkets, fast foods in 15 min walking circle. Garage is perfectly ok, 8 €/day. You can reach hotel with car. Check-in, check out is easy, everything went smoothly. Apartment size is ok, whole building is nicely tidy and quiet.

United KingdomCheck out is at 11am, but when we left to get a coffee at 10.30am and came back at 10.51am our cards didn't work. We wanted to enter our room, take our luggages and leave at 11am. We talked to a very rude cleaner and explained the situation. He was trying to play it smart and told us that we should be on time next time. When we told him that it's before 11am and we are indeed on time, he checked his phone and saw that it was 10.59. He complained and told us that it's only 1 minute to 11am and that we should have already checked out. I'm sorry but that's not how it works...
Comfortable room with all facilities and quite clean. Although not in the center, the location is good as it's only 5 minutes away from the metro.

SpainIf you have accessibility needs, avoid the top floor (rooms 26-28) - To get to our room, we had to take a lift to the last floor and climb two short staircases. The provided duvets were too short/small - they are ok if you are shorter than 160cm tall, but for a person like me (190cm tall), you will need to choose if you cover your head or your feet. There were no air-conditioning vents for ventilation despite having climate control on the wall. We didn't manage to get it working correctly. To renovate the air in the room, we had to keep the window ventilation slats open constantly, making the room colder. On our last day, with severe wind gusts going through Vienna, there was an annoying noise coming from the bathroom ceiling, like it had something loose inside and hitting the surroundings.
Good location, very close to tram stops and a subway station. We got assigned an apartment/flat on the top floor (where rooms 27 and 28 are located), which was like an attic. It was very spacious and cosy and had a fully furnished kitchenette. Comparing the prices with the other options in the city for December, it had a good cost/benefit ratio. I think it was a good apartment to stay in during colder weather in Vienna (fall, winter, early spring). There are vending machines in a lounge room, aside from the entrance hall, and they are not overpriced like everywhere else in Vienna. Furthermore, it is close to several supermarkets (Lidl, Billa, Spar), where you can buy groceries on the cheap during your stay. We had some issues coming through the intermediate door of the building right after entering the main hall and checking in late at night. I almost had to "take the door down", as the lock was accepting the keycard, but the door was not unlocking correctly. We spent around five minutes trying to pass through that door and finally managed. While we found it funny, some people might start to be a bit desperate. Apparently, the door was fixed the next day, and we didn't have issues anymore.

CroatiaMore work should be done on the cleanliness of the apartment, not looking at every detail but a better cleaning every now and then would not be out of place. The apartment was reserved for 4 people, but the beds were made for three, and there were no clean sheets in the closet for another person, they were used and crumpled. Two adults would hardly be able to sleep comfortably on the extra bed, luckily we had two small children so it wasn't a problem for them. Certain parts of the furniture should be replaced or repaired as they are quite worn
As for the check-in and finding the apartment, there were no problems, online check-in was done via the links provided, and you only had to scan the QR code on the check-in device. There are bus, metro and tram stations within a 5-minute walk, and it takes 15-20 minutes to get to the center

United StatesCheck in system malfunctioned, for many people. Water pressure is non-existent. Maybe because it was the fifth and highest floor but that would be a reason to not-take those rooms. The 5th floor is not reached by the elevator so one has to carry luggage at least for 1 floor. The Hauptbahnhof is actually 3 metro stations away, the apartments are located in Raumenplatz. very well served with stores and transportation. I like the area but it's very different from HBF. Cleanliness of the kitchen was a small issue, I saw plenty long black hairs and rice grains, 1 of the pots was burnt (the cleaning lady solved that problem). I actually bought a pack of sponges (60 Euro Cents) because the one provided I would not use. Overall the inability to get a customer service on the phone is frustrating, I called all the numbers provided and got no answer. They only answer emails via Booking.com and I think I know the reason. I reported problems they said that they had not received my emails therefore all the provided methods of contact don't work (Phone or email). Now that I know the location and the challenges I can decide if Iwant to put up with the challenges.
Once reached and got into the apartment it all kinda went well. Bed was great, plenty hot water, standard fridge and freezer, convenient location. Supermarkets in immediate vicinity. It is very quiet. I was there for 5 days and I like to prepare some of my meals. This is a great location and set up. Lidl, InterSpar and many other shops are within 5-7 minute walk. tram, U bahn, S Bahn both very close 3-5 minute walk. HBF 3 stops and international Airport is less than 30 minutes with public transportation. Most places are at the most 18 minutes away. The bathroom was really clean and the towels are nice.

CroatiaThe cleanliness of the hotel rooms is not ideal.
This is not our first time staying at this hotel. We like that you can take a room with a separate bedroom and not disturb each other if someone wakes up earlier. Very convenient location: next to the metro and 15 minutes walk to the main station. 5 minutes to the Lidl supermarket. There is a restaurant in the building opposite. It suits us and we really like that there is no staff for check-in and check-out.
