How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe apartment is nice, on a quiet street, the breakfast was ok, at a terrace near by, without other options, but ok, the self check in was fast. You have a good parking garage neat by with 12e/ 24h, just take the app before entering so that uou can open before the Parking ticket.
The U bahn is near at 5min walk, but the surroundings were full of arabic people, also the park near the metro, very dirty streets, and this felt a little bit unsecure at night.

Verified review"High Tech modern AC Unit" absolute joke. Easily 40+ degress in the Room, when calling the Hotline just a rude Lady picks up shuts me down and assumes the Room is being Cooled and nothing is wrong with it when thats litearlly not true.

Verified reviewThe appartment is very clean, with all facilities. The area is fine, with a good number of shops around. There are excellent public transport to the main attractions.
Internet did not work while we were there. Also, the procedure to obtain the keys did not run smoothly. The appartment was not ready at 14:00. Then the machine that gives the card had instructions only in German; and it stalled a few times. On the whole, it took us almost one hour to get inside the property.

Verified reviewPosition: 3 minutes walking from tram station, 7 minutes walking from metro station and from Despar, Aldi and DM supermarket. Generically within 30 minutes of public transportation from all the main attractions.(Schoenbrunn, Hofburg, Prater) Tap water was drinkable.
A bit long time to check in (30 minutes from the moment in which request of key was inputted inside the automatic check-in machine to the moment in which the keys were receiced). We asked for a replacement of the air dryer which was not functioning properly, but eventually couldn't get it replaced.

Verified reviewExcellent budget apartment near to the Main Station of Vienna (20 min by foot). Just three metro station from the centre of the city, near to Favoritenstrasse (full of shops, restaurants and interestng thing to see and do), definitely a wonderful choice for my stay. Particularly recommended for families, a huge public park is very close.

Aircondition is really bad! I messaged their support and the only reply I got is a template message saying their aircondition system is state of the art.’ which is completely untrue. Imagine having no AC on summer days - completely uncomfortable to sleep. hence bad stay experience!

No wardrobe in our room, room clean but not spotless clean. The area was not really pretty but that’s given the close proximity to the train station. To get to the building you have to present your debit/credit card. It's bit confusing.

Verified reviewIts close enough to the city center and train station without breaking a bank. Though saying it is NEAR train station is an overstatement. Everything was quite clean and little terrace was a nice bonus.
- no a/c (even though advertised), it was a thermo control thing on a wall. Nothing was working - TV remote stopped working on the day 1 - internet is around 20mbp/s (advertised as a high speed, in reality its 1/5 of the 5G internet speed you can get from the phone) - no extra trash bags (one for 3 days is too little if you cook or eat/drink stuff at the apartment). - no help cause no stuff, support is slow and online bot is useless;

Verified reviewThe location to public transport is excellent and close to local shops.
The apartment we were in was not air conditioned as advertised. When we questioned this, we were advised that it had a water based heating/cooling system in the roof. But the air conditioning controls were still in place giving the impression it was air conditioned, plus there were also instructions in the room on how to use it. We were told to keep it cool by keeping the windows closed and the outside blinds down. This meant no fresh air and made no difference to the air temperature. We would suggest they install a fan to circulate the air as it was stifling. The bathroom ventilation fan did not come on at all. The apartment is supplied with an induction hot plate, but an aluminium fry pan was supplied, which does not work on an induction stove. The apartment advertised there was a laundromat in Quellenstrasse approximately 100 metres away, but this is now a pharmacy.

Verified reviewI lived in room 25 in the attic, the room is not big but for one person there is enough space and everything you need. It was easy to check in, despite many people writing about difficulties here. You can open the window and look at the Viennese rooftops. If you need a few nights in Vienna for a single traveler, this is the good variant. The metro station is a 10-minute walk away, the central railway station is 2 metro stations away, and the city center is 4.
