How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nice pension with great access to viewspots. Ale the Restaurant in the pension, steakhouse - great meat!! We enjoyed to stay there!

The house is situated next to a busy road, and it is quite noisy by day. But the night was much better, and we could have a nice sleep.
Our room was small, but had everything we needed. Everything was really clean. The hosts were nice, and we got a good breakfast.

Very freindly owners. They gave helpful advice for our hike. The room was clean and welcoming. We slept well at night. The breakfast was great with good coffee.

A little bit of a walk into town.

Nothing really, room quite small, but we got by. Bed a little soft for me, but my partner was happy. In general we liked it.
Lovely lady checked us in and served our breakfast next morning. Easy walk to village. Spotless room. New bathroom facilities. Great breakfast.

The toilet in the room has weak acustic isolation 🙈; to get into the center we had to walk the main road

The room was clean, bathroom was tiny (but still big enough for us) and we even had a big balcony with a view on the town and lake. The breakfast was good.

It is a bit loud when the windows are open but we were prepared based on the reviews so it was not a problem.
The room had everything we needed. Convenient location to move around in the area. More than enough breakfast and kind host.

It was dark and creaky - other people arrived very late (midnight) and left very early (04.00) and were very noisy. The room was shabby - paintwork stained, no personal touches (just a framed jigsaw of the Eiffel Tower), tiny table, large chairs, basic clip on bedside lamps, cobwebs, sachet shower gel, no local information about food or attractions. Right next to busy main road, not in village centre. Very glad we stayed only one night. Way overpriced at €110, this was by far the most expensive one night stay on our trip, and the least enjoyable.
It was a (just) acceptable place to stay for one night whilst driving through on a longer journey. The room was ok, bathroom ok but very small, free private parking, nice breakfast, comfortable bed.

The house had bad sound isolation, you could hear people walking on the stairs.
Bed was very cozy, good breakfast and the staff was kind :)

The accomodation is situated next to a main street, but it was still quiet at night. The view from the room was nice. It is really close to the center of Fuschl am See. The room was small, but nice and had all the necessary equipment. The hosts very nice and friendly and the breakfast was really big and very good.

when weather turned bad it was very very cold room with no way how to dry the wet clothes since heating was turned off.
