How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautifully clean rooms and the shared bathrooms were amazing- just like visiting a spa! The food in the restaurant was excellent and service very good. The location was fabulous and we loved being in the mountains when the day visitors had left. Highly recommended.
Driving up the gravel track wasn't easy, but it was very quiet in the evening, which helped. If your group is happy to get the gondola or walk, I would recommend leaving the car at the bottom.

Verified reviewEverything: the location is stunning, the house is charming. The breakfast left us speechless. It costs 20 euros per person but it worth it. We weren’t hungry all day so basically you pay less for food overall.
More hand soap dispenser in the bathroom would have been better.

Verified reviewVery clean room, everything looked new in the room, clean bedding and towels. Location in the mountains was amazing and peaceful and we even got a room upgrade to a larger room. The shared bathroom facilities were spotless and very inviting to use. Food and drinks at the restaurant very delicious. The hotel provides free toboggans to use on site.
You have to pay for the cable car to reach the property, this cost us around €25 each for a return ticket so make sure you factor this in your budget. You will need to park your car at the base of the mountain in winter, the parking is free. Not much to do in the evening as even the hotel bar was empty at 8pm.

Verified reviewGreat location with a view of Alps. I guess, it may not be possible to drive up there in winter period due to snow or ice.
Breakfast started around 8am and it was a bit late for our schedule to have a breakfast there.

Verified reviewMy brothers/friends and I shared a room with 6 beds (4 bunks) with a stunning view of mountains and the valley below. The room only has beds and a shelf/desk, no chairs, and a balcony. There were lots of plugs to charge phones. The staff were incredibly friendly and one of them even had a drink with us after his shift. The whole interior has a wood finish, which felt very cosy. The food was incredible and the staff brought out an enormous dessert platter for my birthday, which we hadn't ordered. There are shared toilet and shower facilities, which might require waiting during busier times of the year; we were there at the end of May. There is also a small playground for kids and a downhill luge attraction next to the hotel, which I did not see in the pictures.
The property is very high up a hill up a twisty gravel track and the signage from the bottom of the hill was very confusing. We had to call for directions when we arrived. We were also in rather nice hire cars, which weren't ideal for dusty gravel tracks and they were filthy by the next day. It would have been useful to know about this in advance.

Verified reviewIt was a completely new experience for myself and my daughter, to be so high up in the mountains with unbeatable views and in such a comfortable, welcoming, well serviced hotel. Just incredible. The breakfast was like a banquet each day, everything you could wish to eat... and the lunch and dinner menu too was a brilliant mix of authentic Austrian food and more, catering for everyone's needs and cooked to perfection. The staff were all so lovely too, the owner Martin couldn't have been more helpful.
There was nothing to dislike! However, be aware that the hotel is only either accessible by cable car (timetable 9am - 5pm) or a gravel road which we even saw lorries going up so it is completely fine to use but not all taxis like to go up (or could charge a lot of money)

Verified reviewFabulous location and staff were brilliant as well as very comfortable accommodation. We were a group of 3 mature motorcyclists but this would be great for families as its right next to the toboggan run.
