Our stay at Weingut Baurel was absolutely wonderful! The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful – they truly go above and beyond to make sure guests feel at home. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. The accommodation was perfect – very spacious, spotlessly clean, and extremely comfortable. Everything was tastefully decorated with great attention to detail. The bed was cozy, the bathroom modern and pristine, and the whole place felt peaceful and inviting. The location is stunning – surrounded by vineyards, with beautiful nature all around. It’s the ideal spot to relax, explore the Wachau region, and of course, enjoy some fantastic local wines. There are many wineries nearby, and the train station is just a short walk away, making it easy to explore without a car. Weingut Baurel is a hidden gem in Wachau, offering authentic charm, comfort, and a truly memorable experience. We can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and genuine stay in this beautiful part of Austria.

Excellent location on the Danube. Beautiful walks or cycles along the river just outside the front door. View of river from the room. Lovely hosts and really enjoyed our wine tasting with Wolfgang. Probably need a car on the off season as no local restaurants available? But easy to cook a meal in the excellent kitchen, which is what we had planned. Overall, highly recommend.

No tea bags or coffee pods for Nespresso provided- just need to byo.

The kitchen is wonderful: the amount of cutlery, plates, cups, glasses is enough to host a large banquet. And to top it all off, the host's wine is of excellent quality.

In our opinion, a hood above the stove would be very useful. Although structurally, this is probably impossible. But what is quite possible is to add a microwave oven.

Great position, very spacious, nicely equiped.

A spacious modern apartment, very clean & comfortable; well equipped for self-catering. Well located for walks through the vineyards & the hills, and for easy walks to both Durnstein & Unterloiben. An easy drive to Melk Abbey, which you should visit if you haven't previously done so. The owners were very friendly, welcoming & helpful. We particularly enjoyed our wine tasting with Wolfgang who is justifiably proud of the wines he produces. Tip: If you are staying during summer, I recommend you request the north facing apartment overlooking the village, not the river.

We stayed at the apartment in Weingut Bäuerl, which is situated in the breathtaking Wachau Valley. The apartment is fully equipped and very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Nespresso coffee machine. The beautiful and peaceful city of Dürnstein is only one kilometre away from Weingut Bäuerl, and you can reach it by walking along the Donau River. During our stay, We visited the ruined medieval castle where King Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned. Additionally, the owner of Weingut Bäuerl, who is an experienced winemaker, organized a wine tasting for us. I thoroughly enjoyed the interesting conversation we had, not only about Riesling and Grüner Veltliner wines but also about other topics.

Everything was perfect!

The place is modernly furnished, and our room was spacious and fully equipped with plenty of storage space. We were pleasantly surprised to find basic ingredients such as salt, oil, and others in the kitchen. The accommodation is conveniently located right by the river, providing a refreshing place to cool off during the summer. Additionally, Dürnstein is within walking distance, offering a pleasant stroll through the vineyards. Free parking is available right in front of the accommodation. The owners were nice and friendly.

The location is exceptionally picturesque comprising endlessly terraced grape vines with the mighty Danube River in the foreground and deep green pine forested hills behind. The food in the region (Lower Austria) was sensational, the hosts were exceedingly friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation (fully contained apartment) was modern and immaculate. We definitely intend to return in the future.

Nearly everything was perfect. However, it would have been decent and proper to learn beforehand that a cleaning fee applied to our stay. We had no problem with the fee itself, but it would have been good to know exactly how much we owed, as payments of this type in Austria are usually conducted in cash only, and it would have proved highly embarrassing not to have had sufficient funds on hand. We do not know if Booking.com or the hosts were responsible for this minor lapse.

The apartment was perfect, so clean and bright! The bathroom and kitchen were newly renovated and nicer than mine at home! 😉!! The host was lovely!! if you have a car, there is a spot out the front to easily park. A big Thank you for a wonderful stay in such a pretty village!

We loved our stay in the one bedroom apartment here. There was one other apartment here, and we didn't see the other people, even though we shared the entry way. The location was lovely and quiet and in a small town near Durnstein. Martina was delightful and friendly and easy to communicate with. We rented bikes from her lovely neighbour and this made cycling really easy and the bikes were super comfortable and cheap. The Danube was on our doorstep so we could cycle to Spitz return which was a gorgeous mostly easy ride through vineyards and villages. We could also walk to Durnstein Castle ruins, which was a lovely walk. The whole area was beautiful and serene. The apartment was very comfortable with everything you needed. The bed was comfy, bathroom great, and loungeroom space really nice with a good kitchen. Coffee maker was appreciated. The views out the loungeroom windows were lovely. You could walk to some nice restaurants in neighbouring towns, Martina had some good suggestions. We would return here for sure.

Our only suggestion for improvement would be a smart TV. There were hardly any English channels for us.

Amazing location and great hosts. The place was comfortable and tidy too. Would definitely love to come back here.

The location is near the road and a little walk from durnstain. The Danube river is across the road. Martina & Wolfgang are lovely and very helpfull. The apartment is big and the kitchen is well equipped

The bed and the pillow were not comfortable. Martina told us that they bought a new bed
