Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

We liked everything - easy walk to restaurants, galleries, cbd. Spacious, comfortable beds and clean. Perfect for a group. Washing machine, dryer, clothesline. 2 bathrooms

One of the shower heads didn't appear to be working properly (the main bathroom).
The beds are so comfortable and felt like clouds. The location is perfect. We were cosy and warm during winter solstice.O

We needed a night in Bendigo for a funeral the following morning. This is in a very central location with a door code entry - this suited us as had to arrive quite late. Clean, very tidy, as shown and comfortable beds and great hot water.

Didn’t realise, 1 of the 5 bedrooms is detached from the house, so difficult to use bathroom in house during the night. Description of property said 2 car spaces on site, but there is only 1, can park out the front of property if there is a space available when checking in during the day.
Beds were very comfortable and made up to suit our group. The house was great for our weekend away and walking distance to CBD.

My only feedback would be it would have been nicer to have proper doonas on the beds instead of more of a quilt/blanket. Also on the King beds to have a topper to join the beds rather than just a sheet.
The location was very central to town with lots of dinner locations within walking distance. The place was very clean and Amanda was very accommodating for our requested bedding arrangements.

The sleep-out room (seperate from house), had broken/missing blinds therefore became light early, not allowing for a sleep in for one guest.
A beautiful house, with plenty of space. 5 bedrooms with the ability to have singles or king beds were fantastic to accommodate multiple families and kids. Beds were super comfy, but a little too plush for some. Kitchen is well equipped. Air-cons in every room meant we were all comfortable during our stay. Easy access, and great location, close to city centre.

We all had our own room which was great when you are travelling with five 70 year old friends! Close to everything so we could walk to most places.

Very cold at night and not enough blankets. There is only thin blankets on the beds. Whilst there are heaters in the rooms, they are noisy. There were extra blankets but not enough for everyone. The 5th bedroom is actually detached from the house on the deck.
Location was great. Right in the heart of the city. Close to everything. Lots of beds.

Missing bottle opener which we supplied and left for the next guests.
The location was great and the facilities warm and comfortable. Good supply of crockery and glassware and supplies such as washing liquid and toilet paper.

A little cramped at times. Dining chairs not that comfy if sitting for long periods at table for long conversations.
Location, suitable beds for our group, two bathrooms. Well stocked kitchen appliances, cutlery and dishes etc ( just had to byo glasses for bubble drinks- as not enough for more than a few people). Aircon works well. Property owner very attentive via message system to make sure we had right bedding, access to the property. Plenty of on street parking over weekend.
