The confirmation email said there was a cafe onsite for breakfast. It is closed (not sure how long for). Keep this in mind - you may need to drive ~10 mins to get some brekky.

Can’t think of anything. Although we weren’t able to get the air-con working it wasn’t really an issue as the doonas were superbly warm.

The phone contact with the owners particularly as they were with a family member at hospital. We found the instructions we were given were enormously helpful even though there appeared to be no staff on the premises. A very comfortable and quiet stay.

We were very disappointed to find out that although breakfast was advertised and breakfast menus were on show ( there wasn't any) So we went searching Abermain high and low for a coffee next morning and a local said that the only place we were going to get one was Ridgey Didge pies. We had to drive to Cessnock and 1hr wait for breakfast with children 😔

We really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation was lovely and clean,comfortable and convenient. We had dinner there that evening which was ok ( think we should have ordered the pizza as looked like their signature dish)

Air conditioning in our large 5 bedder would have been nice as it was a hot night.

There were a couple of slights hiccups with our room but it was rectified by staff.

You can tell the rooms have been recently updated and lots is happening at the hotel, it’s all been done very nicely. The staff were exceptionally friendly especially those in the cafe.

The shared kitchen? Was a mess, looked like the morning after a big party. Couldn't stomach making a cup of coffee unfortunately. Great that there is a kitchen but I couldn't use it.

The room, bed, linen, and towels were great, and the bathroom was good for shared.

The room was over priced, communal women’s bathroom had one toilet to share between all rooms. For the price we paid, there was no milk in the kitchen to make a cuppa and no tap for water to fill the kettle, you needed to take the kettle to the bathroom. If the room was under $100 I would have had no complaints. We were there for wedding and can only feel the price we paid was because of our circumstances. Not the best location but was perfect for us due to the wedding.

Beautiful old pub, loved the history and character of the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. Food in the bistro and cafe was nice. Lovely beer garden. Staff friendly and accommodating.

Cosy room and perfect for a stay over in the Hunter Valley. Very friendly & relaxed welcome from the lady there. For the price, we were very happy and everything was nice and clean. Good selection of craft beers in the bar and the coffee shop downstairs in the morning was very nice, and the beer garden was lovely.

Great old pub that has been updated. Good rooms, aircon, TV, kitchen area and breakfast cafe downstairs. Make sure you stay here and not the Kearsley Hotel as that place is disgusting. We had to leave and luckily found this place which really nice.

The rooms were spacious and clean and warm enough- electric heaters! great beds too. staff were exceptional- welcoming and our dinner very tasty and excellent value
