Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The reception does not open until 9am so after a very long overnight bus from Darwin, I had to wait in a nearby cafe from 7am until I could drop off my luggage, shower, etc. Something to be mindful of if you are arriving early!
This is a simple but efficient and clean hostel located right in the middle of Alice Springs and only a 10 minute walk from the Greyhound bus stop The staff are friendly and welcoming, and I would stay here again if in Alice Springs.

The room is extremely small for 4 persons.
The kitchen is well- equipped. Also it is in a city center.

Rooms are small as expected and we had an early garbage pick up which felt right outside our window.
YHA was simple but comfortable. There was a high level of cleanliness and the check in, check out and everything in between was smooth. They also supported our hike of the Larapinta with food drops and transfers. Having everything in one spot was great. Also close to all the action!

The door to bring cars into the courtyard makes a dreadful scraping noise. It needs to be lifted and repositioned so it is easier and quieter to use.
Location is excellent. Close to everything.

No light switch for the room just for the light at each bed. Only half of the stoves were working

It was cold but can't help that. You couldn't access the projector room.
I liked that it was a chill place and meet some good people. I extended my stay and might meet some more good people.

The air conditioning was poor. Things were old and some in need of repair. It advertised a movie shown every night but turns out only in the busy season. Manager was very helpful. He booked a tour for us and brought us a fan. The location is right in the middle of town is close to restaurants and shopping.

Cobwebs on the ceiling in the dorm room with spiders on them. No electric points by beds… an extension lead for 8 beds not adequate. The shower room needs a good scrub and the air freshener in there could do with a dust and a new freshener put in.
I liked the beds they was comfortable, the pool was nice and was good there was laundry facilities. The kitchen and lounge was clean and plenty space. Staff was friendly

Toilet and showers are in like an outhouse type building only 2 working at the time I stayed one a bit dated the other seemed a little more modern Pool not filled when I was there would have been nice to use and know it wasn’t working before arrival. Not really super clean lots of old cobwebs and a bit run down in the rooms.
Great central location, staff really friendly Extension leads in the room great touch Key to fob in and out of building and rooms so secure. One of the showers looked like it had recently been redecorated which was nice.
