A decent hotel, without much character in a quiet street, but this is what in general Darwin has to offer. Rooms are clean, large, good staff.

Room lights too bright/ cool white, shower and bathroom was too small, the pool is tiny. Hard to mark the room for cleaning. Soundproofing could be improved. Air conditioning is too strong without ability to adjust. Humidifier is very loud (though we are aware it could be turned off).

The building is a little echoey and sterile - some carpeting in rooms and corridors would help. The self-closing doors are noisy For the well-equipped room the only basin in the bathroom is far too small The balcony is too small to be worth mentioning but the view of the sunset was excellent Having to pay to use the hotel car park

They gave us an adjoining room which was not good as the people in the next room were talking, arguing, playing music until late in the morning and the walls must be thin as you can hear every noise. Breakfast was very basic, don’t service rooms on Sundays. To use underground carport costs you an extra $9 per night.

The bed was a little firmer than we would like, but far from the worst, and the pillows could have been more plush.

The bathroom is very poky and the room is very narrow. 5 nights there was too long as we felt cooped up when in the room.I imagine $240 per night was because it was festival time. It wasn't awful but I would look.for an apartment next time nearer the harbour. Its a bit of a walk to a coffee shop The staff are friendly

The breakfast room was too cold for me. If they'd opened it up out to the pool, it would have been just right.

It included breakfast. We could turn off the a/c and open door to the balcony. Fabulous. The outlook was good too. It was very clean and the staff helpful.

Breakfast. It is what one expects in a very basic motel. Clean, yes. Industrial bread and cereal, basic coffee, an apple or banana, tiny plastic peel-off packages of butter, jam, peanut butter, etc. No cheese, eggs or charcuterie. Not a major issue but still a bit disappointing. A "light breakfast" indeed. I had expected better and have usually been used to better in this level of establishment. Deserves to be mentioned.

The kitchenette provided a kettle, cups, and glasses. No microwave or utensils. Killed a couple of tiny roaches during time there Distance to CBD and restaurants was further than expected. The walk could be challenging during wet season

Comfortable, clean and with a central location. We enjoyed our stay at the Argus Hotel we were within walking of most amenities. The staff were helpful and the light breakfast was more than ample.
