Gavin is super nice. The cottage is Cozy and clean, located in a tranquil area with kangaroo showing up in the morning. Very pleasant stay.

There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like. Maybe there could have been a porch or roof over the external area because it rained heavily and there wasn’t any cover for the bbq but I can see why you might not have anything.

This property is tucked away making it very unique (in a good way). It was quiet. We saw kangaroos and rabbits grazing on the newly wet grass. Some many cute little birds. It was quiet and very relaxing. Inside was well laid out, functional, very comfortable and well stocked.

The kitchen is dated however we were told it will be renovated this year. The cold water tap in the kitchen bangs when you turn it on and then stops working until you turn it on further. The water pump goes on when and after water has been used. This is a bit noisy particularly if you are staying in the second bedroom . The toaster hadn’t been wiped down and had crumbs over it. I needed to rewash some of the cooking utensils before using them as they were not cleaned properly by previous guests and were probably not checked by the cleaner (?). The hairdryer was not working but it was replaced with another old one that the owner had as a spare. As there is no enclosed outdoor area at the cottages to leave our dog we had to keep him with us at all times. Unfortunately at this time of year you are limited with the times when dogs are allowed on the beaches. They are not allowed on most beaches between 9am-7 pm. This put a damper on our holiday. We had hoped to spend some time sitting on the beach during the day. We didn’t feel we could leave the dog inside the cottage unattended so having somewhere to leave him outside during the day would’ve been handy. The property is located inland and was not in walking distance to the beach or cafe as it is a 30 minute walk to the nearest cafe and 45 minute walk to the nearest beach (according to google maps) which for us is a long distance to walk.

It was great to have a place to go where we could take our dog with us. We have never taken him away with us before so it was an interesting experience. The cottage is clean and has all the facilities that we needed inside. The grounds are very large ( approximately 5 acres). The bathroom was renovated and was very nice and clean . The hosts made sure the house was well stocked, providing everything one would need, such as mops, brooms, sponges, cleaning products, plastic wrap, aluminium foil, baking paper etc. It was great not having to go out and buy these items. We had a few issues with various items in the house ( hairdryer and tv) but they were attended to immediately. The owners, Jaqueline and Gavin, are lovely people to deal with and live on the property, so they were very responsive. There were not many people around as the cottages are 12 minutes drive from Torquay, 10 minutes from Angelsea and 5 minute drive from the beaches, so it was very peaceful. I liked that it is in the middle of various towns so we could choose where to go. Kangaroos came to visit the property every night.

The weather was hot and the car wasn’t in the shade and got very hot inside. I opened the doors to air it. No carport but I’m sure it’s fine in the winter. No other issues I didn’t like.

Open spaces and wildlife. We played music outside and had drinks. Relaxed but went to bed around 10pm. Slept well - the beds are lovely and comfortable. Good kitchen amenities and I like to cook so it was good.

For pet friendly accommodation I was hoping for some enclosed space to keep my dog contained ie: closing the front gate and as guests being responsible for opening and closing gate as we come and go. It wasn’t a deal breaker, it just meant the dog had to be more indoors than out. The kitchen also could do with a salad bowl. I had to use the small cereal bowls for a salad.

The on thing missing was a see view. But the environment, lawns and trees, perfection.

Everything was perfect. Lovely setting. I was able to complete my workand my family and friend were able to enjoy the evening.
