The cottage is gorgeous and very comfortable. The fireplace is a treat in the winter. Only a few minutes drive to Leongatha. We loved everything about Walnut Cottage. Perfect for us while visiting family in the area.

For some reason I wasn’t getting connected to the internet but since I came here to switch off and get some r and r, I didn’t need the internet. So this wasn’t much of a bother for me.

Love this place. Stayed over 3 nights and was looking for a cottage to switch off for a while. It has that quintessential cottage charm and woke up to birds singing. Really enjoyed my time here. This place was also quite close to Leongatha town centre that it’s not too far a drive to get some supplies. But also far enough that you can enjoy the countryside.

The country-cottage vibe complete with fireplace and cottage decorative items gave me a proper break from the city. But the cottage has a modern kitchen and bathroom for comfort. The extensive and lush garden surrounds are also impressive! It was the perfect environment to relax as a family and play board games. And during the day made road trips to visit Wilson’s property and other surrounding areas for hikes and walks.

Catalin and his family were kind, generous and attentive hosts, making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay beautiful, and also respecting our privacy. It is a dear little 1890s cottage, lovingly restored. Being nestled amidst the organic food forest was truly heavenly. The earth and everything in it felt so good! Access for my elderly mum into the cottage and back and forth to the car was easy. And the surrounding area is gorgeous - rolling hills and so many historic towns to pop to for coffee and lunch. Highly recommended.

The pantry was extremely bare! You’ll need to bring EVERYTHING with you including oil to cook with, margarine etc. Only soy milk was provided so bring your own milk too. The supermarket is at least 10 minutes away and we were on motorbikes which made things a little less practical with bringing supplies. No stress! Just need to be a little organised.

The cottage is beautiful! Quiet and secluded it is perfect for a much needed escape from noise and busy life! Loved the friendly cat! Ample dishes and cooking utensils. Beautiful gardens. Lots of blankets and spares.

The area was impacted by thunderstorm & power outage. But the local communities were helping out with each other whenevery they could. We were among those who were helped out by kindness.

The cottage was surrounded by an orchard if trees in a tranquil farm. The area was very relaxing & peaceful.

Advertised a breakfast and cheese board, didn’t happen - don’t tease us like that haha. Not enough to stop us coming back in the future just a small detail. Thanks again for having us.

Not that I know of. However, it is a good idea to check in at the cottage before it gets dark, otherwise you might wander into your hosts' properly, but thank God Catalin very kindly helped me navigate back to the cottage! If you get stuck, just give Catalin a call :)

The cottage was lovely, the facilities were clean and comprehensive, and the fruit farm itself was a joy to explore. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway in the countryside. The hosts, Catalin and Christina, were nice and friendly. My kids enjoyed their stay too!

Trees were very over grown on entering the property and near the carparking. Main bed was very small , as big as it could be considering the space it had to fit but was up against the window frame which wasn't great when hitting it during the night, electric blanket was uncomfortable. TV didn't receive any channels! Fan in bathroom wasn't effective therefor the floor was damp and slippery. Tea and coffee provided was out of date. Fireplace was positioned in dangerous location, no fire guard.
