Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaA comfortable and well appointed place to stay. We ate at the restaurant, and it was OK, but a little disappointing.

AustraliaTV in my room wasn't working - rang for help but did not get any assistance.
Great first time stay at Craig's! Location is absolutely fantastic. Can park right out the front (have to keep an eye on parking meter till 5pm), very clean bathrooms, beautifully kept heritage building. Didn't get to use breakfast and bar facilities but they looked amazing. Loved the old school lift!

AustraliaNo provided car park. Relying on availability of a space in the street an issue. Until hotel gets their carpark sorted, should arrange designated spaces with council. Caused stress. Probably time to replace carpet in lift. Threadbare! Just managed the lift doors-challenged my 85 year old body!
History. Location. Excellent modernisation of the bathroom. Loved the heated towel rail. Heidi who wound me around corridors to get me to my room early on arrival.

AustraliaThe kitchen has lost the plot. I have been staying here for years and standards have slipped badly. I ordered mushroom risotto. I got reheated cheesy rice with scarcely a mushroom. The vegetables were swimmimg in oil with asparograss so stringing it was unchewable. The breakfasr granola tasted og slightly rancid oil. Not fresh at all. I will not eat here again.

AustraliaWe were celebrating a birthday and looking forward to a nice, leisurely dinner but the menu was still the summer one, not the one on the website, and it was August. A few items were unavailable as the new menu was coming in the next week, we were told. We ordered and after eating our main courses, which was very nice, we were ignored by waiting staff and our empty plates left on the table for at least half an hour while staff dried cutlery and reset tables, despite it being just after 8pm. We were not offered another drink, dessert or coffee and found the same lack of attention at breakfast the next morning. We were dissappointed as we've stayed at Craig's before and were looking forward to another enjoyable dinner. Staff were pleasant but seemed to be untrained in meeting customer expectations. Maybe some hospitality training is required.
The room and bed were comfortable and the location great.

AustraliaStaff were sometimes hard to track down to order food and bev.
Central to everything, only a couple of minutes walk from the station. Reception staff happily assisted me with my request for an extra blanket on a cold night, but room was toasty warm. Room had a mini fridge which was a nice surprise.

AustraliaSome of the carpets are worn through presenting a trip hazard. The tread on the staircase is narrow which is a risk for elderly patrons and others with mobility issues. Reception staff could improve their welcoming attitude
This is the grand old lady of Ballarat. It is steeped in history. We booked the Royal Suite and it was incredible. Reasonable bar facilities. Can’t comment on the restaurant as we ate at a local Thai place. Heating was good and the bed was comfortable. Wonderful antique lift.

AustraliaOur bed was very high, I’m a little vertically challenged so getting in and out wasn’t hard but wasn’t easy. But apart from that we’ve stayed there before and it’s always lovely.
Central to everything, the rooms are lovely (our bed was a bit high). Breakfast was very well priced. Great that they had parking available as well.

AustraliaThe 1980s style tv cabinet in a period style hotel room was a little disappointing. The restaurant was also a little disappointing. We thought that the waitresses were guests by the way they were dressed. The food quality wasn’t of the standard that it appeared in the advertisements. The menu was also different to what was online.
The whole hotel and period room were a fantastic step back in time. The reception staff were very helpful and lovely to deal with. It was a quiet and relaxing place to stay

AustraliaI really didn't like the fact that the pokies room was so close to the bar and restaurant and having to walk through it to reach the car park. It was disturbing to see all the machines and customers glued to the machines, wasting their money. It spoilt the ambience of the hotel. The toast option for breakfast stated there would be a choice of jams etc, but I was given some indiscriminate red jam and no choice.
