Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaOnly small drawbacks - the bed was only a double, there was a strong smell on arrival (possibly from cleaning products) and we missed out on meeting the dog.
This place was beautifully designed, thoughtfully styled and comfortable. The heated bathroom floors and cosy fireplace made it feel extra welcoming and the location was great - close to everything we needed and just minutes from Sherbrooke Falls walk. We stayed in the writers studio and would stay again.

AustraliaI understand that the studio doesn’t have a full kitchen, but it would be great to have some plates and cutlery available if there’s a mini fridge and microwave. Just a small suggestion for an upgrade.
Design of the space and location was amazing

AustraliaBeautiful cottage surrounded by magnificent trees. Stunning decor and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely for a winter weekend. Plenty of kindling and wood for the open fire which added to the ambience.

AustraliaBeautiful location. Stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage with my daughter. Spotlessly clean. Had a fully equipped kitchen. Comfy lounge. Lovely and warm. Decor was perfect, so much thought went into it. Happily recommend it to anyone.

AustraliaToo few places to hang and dry bath towels
The location of Dingleigh made our ability to enjoy the Dandenongs easy and straight forward with so many walks, gardens and eateries within an easy radius. The cottage was exceptionally clean and the bed very comfortable. Instructions for the locale and things to do were well described.

AustraliaWould’ve really appreciated plates, although I was aware there wouldn’t be any, ahead of the stay. Maybe an outside sink for washing up could avoid the need for one inside?

AustraliaCentral heating would be fantastic for the winter months. I noticed that there are vents in the property, but I didn't see a control switch for central heating. As beautiful as the fireplace is, that and the single heating unit was not enough to keep the cottage warm.

AustraliaWe could not get internet. The password simply did not work. The route to the village for shops or restaurants was winding and a little inconvenient. Good shelf space for clothes, but no hanging space.
The internal decor was beautiful, and the garden setting in the forest was terrific. The fire created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bed and chairs were comfortable.

AustraliaLeaving it
We had our wedding nearby-the hosts were flexible worked to meet our needs and beyond.. The cottage was a dream in terms of taste and comfort. The grounds were exceptionally maintained and equal to anything in the Dandenong’s. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom-would love to stay a long time exploring the library of books.

AustraliaIts just perfect for the price point. You get a great place only a short drive from Sassafras. We have stayed in a few places in the area as we have family. no complaints.
We loved the location and the small details of the studio. Its furnished inside to be turn of the century with old clocks, fireplace, typewriter and writing desk. The water features outside also lend to the pleasantness and calm. The bathroom had a heated floor, which if we returned in winter, would be a must in the Dandenongs! The bed was comfortable, and we slept 10 hours each night. must have been that whole quietness in the wilderness. We got to walk from Sassafras back to the cabin one time via a walking track through the ferns. If we returned we would do more walks to nearby gardens.
