How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The sliding door to the veranda was buggered. I did report it, did not distract from the whole experience, would have been nice to sit outside

Bathrooms need a good clean. I mean deep clean. There should be no reason for mould for showers that are being cleaned as frequently as they are at worst weekly. Generally pretty dusty but amenities and facilities rather good. We stayed for 5 days we had no room service whatsoever even though we had been told it would occur mid stay. 1 tea bag per person basically according to one of the staff members who counted out 4 teabags for for of us on day 3.
Location was phenomenal especially if visiting the Ekka! Pretty centrally located to various locations around Brisbane without too much of the city hustle. Car park was easily accessible although be sure to book ahead. Female receptionists great.

We only realised at the last moment that we hadn't considered parking - nothing was initially mentioned, but it was quickly resolved without any hassles
It was well appointed, modern, fresh, appreciated the balcony and view, excellent location for our needs, easy to go from the garage to the room, the whole building felt personal rather than a vast empty space

I wasn't provided with details to access the accommodation until after I arrived, despite phoning before my flight to confirm, and as it was after hours check in, I was left a bit stranded. It was my first time staying/driving in Brisbane, so it was quite stressful. Otherwise the accommodation was fine. There wasn't too many food options within close walking distance...

Can't think of anything!
Brilliant location, just 15 minutes walk to Fortitude Valley station. A couple of nearby stores to get essential groceries. Surprisingly quiet at night. The unit was a good size with everything neede for a comfortable stay. Staff were friendly and helpful...happy to help with directions and ordering a taxi.

Not enough cleaning products for a self serviced apartment (dishwasher liquid, etc) Especially for a 3 night stay when there is use of the fully functional kitchen. But wasn't a massive issue.

I didn’t like the modern ceiling decoration design of bare concrete, it didn’t work for me, it looked cold and unfinished, but it didn’t spoil anything.
The apartment was clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and all rooms had adequate air conditioning. The apartment location is good, not too far from local amenities and public transport. I found the checkin process straightforward and staff very helpful.

Very tight car park, don't expect to get a large car or 4wd in this.
Governor - Location easy to get to and just on edge of CBD, so not too busy. Easy access to James St restaurants, public transport options close by. Note: reception is in Pavilion building for both premises.

Very good location. Near lots of restaurants and the train station was only a few minutes walk away. There is a small supermarket nearby and lots of small cafes for breakfast. The apartment was a great size and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful
