Listening to Friday night’s band, who were great by the way, in the freezing cold, was a serious bummer. I’m sure the limited number of audience members was due to this too!! The poor 4 band members were almost hypothermic!! How stupid when the inside venue would have been perfect, warm and this band could have been off the charts, who knows? Instead it was a feat of pure physical endurance against the cold. 😳 I only stayed for one song and didn’t purchase a drink on principle. Disappointing and a definite negative mark against the Pub’s Management. ❌

I just ❤️ this old hotel. It is one of my favourite places in the world. I recovered from a lack of sleep over previous days, sleeping 11 hours almost straight in my fantastic room. Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Weekends can be busy and having a bar below can be understandably noisy. Also, cars and trucks passing by late at night can be nuisance. Not ideal for family with small kids. We found bottles of soda under the bed. Smell of old carpet throughout the hallway.

Great location, situated in the middle of the town, has a bar/restaurant on the ground floor. Staff were nice and polite. Food and drinks available until 8pm. Very clean shared facilities, smart tv in room with access to internet for streaming/youtube.

everything was very clean. Nice old building. The room was fine and beds were extremely comfy!!🤩🤩 We had dinner at the pub downstairs and the food was very good. Our room was on the main road and altought it was a Friday night, it was pretty quiet. Perfect stop to break up a long drive.

Have to assemble your own bedding an no toilets in the room. Its a nice place with friendly staff but the hotel is quite run down. I feel like the price could be more reflective of the venue.

The accomodation was comfortable and clean. I loved the menu choices in the pub. I am coeliac and was so happy with how many gf choices there were and the care they took in preparing it. The beer garden was lovely with lots of space for my 5 year old to run around. Great live music and a lovely atmosphere.

There were a couple of members of staff in the bar who were extremely rude and unwelcoming. We were told that the bar would be closing at 10pm due to it being a quiet night (this was a Saturday), and at 9pm we were begrudgingly served drinks and told we need to leave. They even turned off all the lights in the bar at 9:30pm... (when there was still a large group of people also sitting there). It put a complete downer on the otherwise enjoyable day.

The location was great for our particular trip, halfway between our destinations. Rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. Communal bathrooms were satisfactory, but the showers did not work after a certain time in the evening.

I didn’t like that when you book through booking.com they ask you a time you would like to check into the property but the staff at the hotel don’t get notified about it and they said it happens all the time so I believe that the website booking.com needs to update this so there is no more problems. Can’t thank the staff enough though for accommodating us
