Matt, the host, was extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was magnificent, so many fruits that I'd never heard of before, let alone tasted. Rooms are clean and well appointed, I had a wrap around balcony looking into the rainforest with 2 sets of tables and chairs and a wonderfully comfortable hammock. For a 100% off grid property, the amenities were great, electricity for charging devices, good pressure shower and hot water. Very close to cow bay beach and a fabulous ice cream cafe on the entry road to the property. It's clear that this property has been a lifetime's labour of love. So grateful he is happy to share this wonderful property.

It is an amazing place to spend some time in the rainforest. Matt is a very lovely chap and offers a lot of useful information. The bed (room 1) was really comfy and the (fruity) breakfast together with the other visitors was a nice bonus. We would recommend everybody who likes nature to chose this accomodation!

It was just an awesome stay! Unfortunately we have been at the Epiphyte just two nights because you could stay there and its surroundings the entire day easily and relaxe in the middle of nature on the highest level. The entire accommodation is self sustained but that is not a problem in any way except you are asked to don’t waste energy. There were nearly no mosquitos end of July so we have even slept one night in the outside bed on the terrace just meters away from the rainforest with all its nature sounds of the night. Even our 7 y/o daughter thought is was a fantastic experience Our host Matt who built the entire house may years ago is such a charming, heart-warming person, down-to-earth and so helpful. He couldn’t be a better host. At the very end of our stay he even didn’t hesitate a second to help us to pull out our car from a side ditch and saved our day. We are sure: if we will return to Daintree again, we will book the Epiphyte again - but this time probably more than two nights:)

We enjoyed our stay at Epiphyte immensely. Matt was welcoming, warm and friendly and was happy to offer advice and information about getting the most out of our stay (eateries and activities/tours). Epiphyte is a beautiful hand built B and B in a beautiful and peaceful setting, with private areas to rest or hang out on your own or with other guests. The accomodation is very comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was included and was an amazing plate of tropical fruit, cereals, toast and delicious homemade jams. Thank you Matt - we recommend highly and would love to return and stay longer next time.

There is nothing to dislike at this B and B

This is a unique place, nestled into the rain forest. The host Matt could not have been more helpful and welcoming.

The bathroom was on the verandah which was private so ok but it was small and the towels had to be hung outside the door. A couple of hooks inside would have been handy.

A beautiful place to stay! Matt is so friendly and knowledgeable about the area - he had some great recommendations about where to go and what to see. His hospitality was excellent - the communal breakfast was a great way to hear about other guests’ activities and trips. The communal seating areas are lovely, both in the afternoon and evening as a place to sit after dinner with some stunning views. Bed was super comfy and room was very spacious. Lots to do and places to eat nearby too. A very relaxing 2 night stay!

We stayed in the Hibiscus Cottage for 4 nights. The cottage was beautiful and well-equipped, and easy to get to all the local attractions. We also loved the breakfast. Matt and his family were so accommodating, we felt very relaxed and enjoyed every minute of our visit.

Beautiful location nestled in the rainforest. Matt is a superstar host that goes above and beyond to make his guests feel welcome and included. His knowledge and passion for the Daintree forest and local area is commendable . The homestead is inviting, clean and very functional. Yummy seasonal local fruit plate at breakfast is a great start to the day.

Connectedness to the rain forest. In harmomy with the rainforest. Peaceful. Warm welcome from Matt and very well looked after. Other guests very interesting. Our separate house had a kitchen but we could also use the communal kitchen and living space in the main house.

Matt is super friendly and welcoming, and the place is clean and well kept. I especially liked the fruit plate included with breakfast.

My stay was too short to fully explore the surroundings.
