Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Could do with a pathway or pavers to the front door as I couldn't wheel my suitcase in and had to carry it over the stones.
The house was cosy and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. As I was travelling alone I thought the shared bathroom would bother me, but it was fine. The house was very clean and tidy and there was a good breakfast selection.

Great variety self-serve continental breakfast. Large, fluffy, hotel-quality towels. The property was very clean, including the shared bathroom. Self-check in was easy and the hosts were very communicative, responsive and available for assistance. Overall, a great stay.

I was very, very happy with my stay at Estilo Bed and Breakfast! The place was a piece of heaven!! The kitchen was spacious and fully equipped, with everything you could possibly need. The living room was beautiful, and the terrace felt incredibly cozy, a perfect place to relax. My bedroom was excellent: comfortable, well-furnished, and had all the essentials. The bathroom was just as great, modern, clean, and practical. The whole place has a very nice style, a great vibe, and a welcoming atmosphere. Communication with the host was smooth and friendly from start to finish. It’s also conveniently located, not too far from Cairns city centre.

A bit of an ugly walk to the heart of Cairns along big roads but only for 10 minutes
A very nice BnB with only a few rooms and a nice airy and spacious kitchen and living area. Bed super comfy and the whole place was lovely and clean.

I love the place and the vibe of the owner, very much helpful. I really liked also that we could get ourselves in the house and have the breakfast in our own time, which it was essential for us since we had a very early morning flight. Super recomend!

The location is not in the city center (30 min.walk), but we’ve been aware of this before booking, so definitely it was not a minus for us.
Everything is exactly as in the description. What I liked the most is that the property is veery clean!

Bathroom didn’t have a fan which made it quite humid. The gravel driveway was harder to manage with our roller luggage but it wasn’t anything too terrible.
Close to all the main attractions. Laundry was a huge plus for us as it was the middle of our trip and we had lots of dirty clothes. Shared bathroom was kept in good condition as well as the shared spaces.

Had a very comfortable stay for 1 night. Everywhere was clean and breakfast included was good. Only improvement is that it could be signposted more. we got there when it was dark and we couldn’t find it for ages.

All was very good. No faults.
The host was very attentive to our dietary requirements and catered for these extremely well. Very convenient location. Very clean. The host is a great communicator and responds quickly to any queries.
