Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Rooms are quite small. Double bed quite small for two adults. Better and more comfortable if there were two king singles.
Nice town close to the prom. Has a great bistro.

The bathroom is suffering from poor ventilation and has mould on the walls/ceiling
The location is the biggest selling point - we were on our way to Wilson’s Prom and this is under an hour to Tidal River. We also wanted accommodation for three single people, and our room provided that.

The website did not tell that the budget room doesn’t even have private toilet and shower

Really fantastic staff. So welcoming and helpful. It's a simple room and share bathroom. I was there on a Friday night and it wasn't noisy past 10pm which was great. The servo across the road makes great coffee.

Remote for a/c did not work stuck on a timer or something, no big deal just letting you know, temp outside was down to 5 deg in the night room was still warm with out heater, so all good.
The Large Fish on the roof of the building that a great touch should be more of that type of expression and the art deco hotel design very smooth looking place.

It all went well: cheery welcome, good beer (we'd just ridden from Leongatha), pleasant room and very good pub meal - I had the ribs, definitely recommended. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

The cleaning staff seemed rushed and were discussing whether to knock on rooms 30+ minutes before check-out. Vacuuming right outside of the room from 8am and being asked if we were leaving at 9.30am disrupted the morning. Leaking cold tap in women's bathroom that couldn't be turned up, hot tap not working - appeared that cold tap had been leaking for some time as the basin below had yellowed/appeared worn from persistent leak.
The room was very nicely made up. The meal in the bistro was lovely.

Good sized room, comfortable queen bed. Nice outlook to courtyard and garden. Good quality sheets/ pillows and towels. Bathroom was old but clean and functional.

Bathrooms could do with a freshen up
Great old school pub, rooms are small but newly renovated and bed was very comfortable. Food in the Bistro was great wine list very reasonably priced and great to be able to walk up stairs to bed.

The bathroom is awkward and needs renovating.
The rooms are comforatble and well equipped with microwave, toaster and kettle (important as early breakfast can't be had in Fish Creek). Upgrades since my last stay 2 years ago noted with pleasure: new handbasin , better linen. The design is good as rooms have a front and rear door the latter of which opens to a garden and theor are a few clerestory lights which bring daylight in

Considering the cost, It was a great place for our hiking group to rest before taking on a 3-day walk around the Prom. The rooms are slightly dated, so would benefit from from refreshed bathrooms, but it's fine for an overnight stay.
It is a very convenient location close to Wilsons Prom—excellent food at the restaurant! Accommodation was reasonable considering the cheap price, although the room could benefit from some minor upgrades in the bathroom.

Only thing that was a problem was in the morning there is no where to get a coffee or breakfast Simple coffee making ( a kettle to boil water ) facilities would be very convenient for travelers staying

The lock on the door of the motel room which opened onto the car park and street was very rudimentary. As a solo female traveller I was uncomfortable about this.
