Great location to explore the Mt Fields area. The room was spacious and facilities great whether self catering or in house dining. The meals available to choose from were all amazing and delivered to our room! We enjoyed walking to the dam and a tour around the farm. The host was also very helpful with local information and places to see.

Old style accommodation on a working farm. Trish and Steve were wonderful friendly hosts who prepare the most delicious meals served straight to your room. Our King suite was spacious and super comfy plus we had an enclosed verandah. We loved it..and Steve and Trish could not have been more helpful...did I say how good the meals are?!

Hamlet Downs is a wonderful country retreat. The setting is beautiful and the working animals very interesting. Hosts are a wonderful couple who make you feel really welcome. Nearest shop is quiet a distance away so recommend the meals that are cooked by Trish. We celebrated our 20th anniversary with a 3 course meal that was so good. Enjoy.

Hamlet Downs is a nature stay/ farm stay. The are trails around the property have plenty of birds; especially cockatoos. Percy the platypus lives onsite. The resident sheep and the pigs are pretty cute, too. At the house, we had plenty of space to stretch out. We were very comfortable— Steve made sure we had enough wood for our fire— and wine and beer, too. It is a spacious house with plenty of cooking implements. (We are four adults) Mt Field is an easy drive.

The countryside location was perfect. Quiet and peaceful, set in beautiful landscape, I couldn't have enjoyed it more. I liked the decor in the property too, very tasteful.

Not didn't like, but more a suggestion, is it would have been nice to have a coffee table/s to put our glasses /mugs on when sitting in the lounge chairs.

It was wonderful to have the option to order dinner and breakfast. We had dinner one night and breakfasts on both our mornings. Both were delicious, and highly recommend to anyone staying at Hamlet Downs Country Accommodation. It is a lovely property to have a stroll around as well.

Not much but had to move items to get storage for our clothes. Recommend Trish’s meals rather than cook of an evening.

Great location close to Mt Field NP and with the farm to wander around. The platypus performed for us for several minutes in the dam and plenty of other wildlife around as well as the farm animals. Very hospitable hosts with both Steve and Trish happy to chat and give tips on what was in the area. Trish’s cooking was if. Very high standard and good quantities too.

Cosy accommodation in a rural setting. Trish and Steve are very nice hosts. Steve invited us on a short tour of the farm to feed the animals. There was a fantastic view over the farm. The dinner prepared by Trish was wonderful. We spent a cosy evening by the open fire. The firewood was ready. Thank you very much for the lovely stay.

Food could be ordered at an extra cost. We had a 2 course meal on two nights. Delicious! The property has resident platypus and we spotted 2 happily feeding away. Gardens lovely and a pair of Splendid Wrens provided entertainment regularly at the dining room window. Bed was very comfortable. Great location close to Mt Field NP.

Needed more space to put luggage coats etc we had 2 large suitcases. Sorry we didn’t get to meet Trish. Needed a tea towel and dishwashing liquid Had to wash cups etc in bathroom sink and filling kettle awkward.
