Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaSome lighting around the BBQ was not working or we couldn’t find the switch for it.
This is a fun house! But it’s also really comfortable. Beautiful beds, lovely linen, extra touches. We all walked in and went wow! The lollies in the jar, oil and salt in the pantry, sauce etc. The games room / man cave was just so well set up. It’s in such a gorgeous quiet location. We felt so relaxed. I’ve run a BnB before and if I had a house like this it’s what I’d do. People really appreciate the fact that they are made to feel at home and facilities were fantastic.

AustraliaWe loved our stay and could not fault it but it should be noted that the Lovedale area is not really walkable to vineyards, restaurants and cafes etc. If you are coming to enjoy the wines of the Hunter Valley then you just need to book one of the many great tour options that offer pickup from your location. As mentioned the self catering option for dinners worked for us and if thats not for you, Maria and Andrew also provide lots of information on local delivery and takeaway options. Of course, you can always drive yourself as there are plenty of dining options close by within the area.
We loved the beauty and tranquillity of Hannahs Place ! This fantastic, well equipped cottage provides everything you need for a fun and relaxing getaway to the Hunter vineyards. The hosts, Maria and Andrew, are excellent communicators, and their attention to detail and comfort can be seen throughout this beautiful space. 3 bedrooms, 21/2 bathrooms, and 2 entertaining spaces make it the perfect choice for a group of friends like us, but also would be a perfect getaway with our family. The beds are so comfortable, with quality linen and electric blankets, to make sure you are toasty warm on cool winter nights. There is air-conditioning as well as an indoor fire box and an inviting outdoor firepit area wiyh all firewood supplied. We loved the fact that there was a fully equipped kitchen plus BBQ so we could come home each day after exploring the vineyards to have an easy dinner and make good use of the games room that is set up in the garage. We found it be excellent value for money and the generous checkin and checkout times take it to the next level.

AustraliaNothing at all! Which is unusual for a family of 6 - usually someone has something they didnt like but all of us rate this stay 10/10 :)
Everything about our 5 day stay was perfect! The property is private, quiet, immaculately presented and had everything anyone could need to be comfortable and relaxed. The hosts were respectful and attentive. Going above and beyond to ensure the trip for our family was amazing! While we didnt see them at all we knew they were on hand if we needed anything. There was a bottle of wine on arrival, electric blankets and oil heater ready. Aircon worked perfectly and we used both the fire pit outside for marshmallow toasting and the inside wood heater to keep us all toasty. Both had more than enough wood for the time there. So many nice little touches were noticed from the additional toilet paper, stocked pantry, lolly jar, extra soaps, shampoos etc. One thing I particularly noticed was how clean and hygienic everything was- very hard to maintain such a large home but every corner and wall and draw was spotless!! We were able to cook dinner every night using the electric frypan and oven and the fridge was family size so a full shop fitted in perfectly. Fans in each room and a second aircon at the other end of the house would keep this place cool in summer too. Our little ones are a bit too young for the games room but fussball and pool table and kick-back area in a separate room outdoors would be ideal for a group of friends or older children. Our 4 little girls especially loved having a spa bath each night and my husband and i loved our huge ensuite with walk in robe. The location is the best we've stayed at in the Hunter. Just 10 mins to everything... There isn't anything but compliments we have for this property and its host. Highly recommend Hannah's Place to everyone and we certainly will be back. Thanks again Maria!!

AustraliaThe door lock on the games room and main door were a little fiddly and hard to use.
The house was spacious, clean and nicely decorated with plenty of space for all of us. Andrew (host) was very responsive when i had a request for more firewood. The outdoor firepit was also excellent and was a highlight of our stay.

AustraliaI think it would be a good idea to maybe have a mirror in each of the rooms (maybe full length) as it was a bit tricky all of use trying to get ready at the same time for the wedding we were attending.
Hannah's place was a good size for our stay. The hosts were always very helpful and prompt. We would have liked to have stayed longer. The house was in a good location for the event we were attending. Very clean property.

The location is great, it’s very spacious and quiet. It has everything you need, it is very comfortable, bedrooms are well appointed, bed linens and towels are nice, fresh and clean. The separate games room is an added bonus, we’ve enjoyed it. We had a lovely stay, we will definitely come back.

AustraliaWould have been great to be able to use the fire pit but frankly a really minor point.
Quite rural setting in the heart of Lovedale. Short drive to Binnorie Dairy and the Deck at Gartelman, both personal favourites of ours. Rooms and kitchen were perfect and also loved the pool table.

AustraliaI can’t think of anything.
Everything about this place was wonderful! Kitchen fully equipped, lots of complimentary tea and coffee (with proper coffee machine!), well maintained clean rooms, and we also enjoyed the game room. It was particularly cold during our stay but we were able to keep ourselves warm with the aircon and the efficient fireplace. We didn’t use them, but electronic blankets were installed in bed ready to use as well. Great time was spent by our 3 generations family. Have not seen Maria and Andrew in person, but the communication was great.

The lock up garage/games room was great. The younger ones partied on in the games room and we could relax and get an early night without any disturbance. Everything you need was there for the stay, everybody was very content and happy with our 4 nights.

AustraliaEverything was lovely. I would have liked a hand towel in the kitchen and face washers in the bathroom. Other than that we couldn't fault the accommodation.
Beautifully presented, exceptionally clean house in a lovely quiet setting. Bed linen and towels were of excellent quality. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with crockery, cutlery, glassware and any utilities we required and much more. We used the BBQ on the verandah for dinner and breakfast which was very handy to the house. The living area was comfortable and roomy. It was a warm weekend, we were thankful the aircon and fans were all in good order making it a very comfortable stay. The games room was an added bonus for some extra fun. We'd highly recommend Hannah's Place.
