Great atmosphere and host. Close enough to various local tourist attractions. Day time has lots of day pass visitors, it'll be your decision whether you want to mingle. This establishment is in many ways unique to the Australian gay community and should be preserved. Your experience will largely depend on how you engage with other travellers and patrons visiting this place as well as who you'll meet there. I may have lucked out to meet some really cool and genuine people during my three night stay as I had a fantastic time, every night was different in a good way. It's nice to just be a person and talk with like minded people, without the burden of pretences and facades that you put up whether intentionally or unintentionally during your daily life, having the chance to meet people from drastically different ways of life and have a drink together and chat, relaxing in the pool or the spa, it was good both for the body and the mind. The rooms themselves alone don't really justify the price but they are decent enough for what they offer, comfy beds, simple kitchen set up, good water pressure in the shower if you go for the top tier options. It's the experience that this unique environment offers that makes up for the price and in my opinion it has been well worth it.

Nothing I found that I disliked.

Chilled, peaceful, sunny, welcoming. A very chilled space to unwind and relax. From being greeted and checked and 2 days later checked out by the very super friendly and helpful Quentin. The space is great to be in the company of other men. Nice to have a space with no expectations or pressure but enjoy the M2M chat. The venue itself is a little older but still very fit for purpose. Quiet later evenings, music, videos, all day long. Spa is lovely as was the pool and deck chairs that got the sun all day. Follow the recommendations from Quentin in regards of where to eat out. Certainly will come back for another stay.

A relaxing time which was just what I needed.

First time back in 2yrs and was immediately reminded why I enjoy staying here. The staff (Quentin / Russ) were incredibly accommodating and understanding around my check in / check out requests, they were always happy, smiling, engaging and making sure that everybody was enjoying their stay. There have been upgrades to the property since my last stay which have also made for an even nicer experience, and despite the weather being less than favourable, I still had a great time. The other visitors are always going to be a mixed bag of day-visits and those with booked accommodation, but considering how welcoming and friendly everybody is, even somebody as body-conscious as myself had a great time. Made some new friends and looking forward to my next visit. There’s nothing else like Hideaway in Australia, and it’s an out-and-proud venue that provides a safe space for queer men of all ages, shapes, sizes and skin colour - whether you’re openly gay, bi, curious, or just a nudist. There’s zero pressure, zero expectations, so you’re free to be yourself, and play / explore as much (or as little) as you like. If you’re ever thinking about going to the Sunshine Coast, Hideaway definitely needs to be a place to visit.
