We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

AustraliaNeed access to water in kitchen area for jug and washing up. Would be hard to keep outside lounges and chairs clean but necessary. Lack of food and drinks in pub itself.
Heritage pub. Showing its age. Good airconditioning and free TV coverage. Simple country living. So quiet. No other guests in. Helpful host. The large sitting room was great.with its comfy lounges Shower hotwater was quick, hot and strong. Access to three verandahs handy. For getting fresh air. 3 Good food choices down the road. As no food available in pub. Good size communal fridge. All crockery and cutlery available.

AustraliaI had an email to say my booking was confirmed, the day before I arrived. When I arrived not long after checkin time at 2pm, the person on the desk said they had NO booking for me, as they were booked out!!!! I did check my emails, and there was an email sent from booking.com an hour and a half before I checked in saying they were booked out………..where was I going to go?? I was travelling, so no emails came that I saw giving me ample time to rebook!!!!! The room was so so, it was right on the main road with thundering trucks passing by metres from my head all night!! The room also did not feel clean, there was grit on the quilt. No soap in the bathrooms, no paper towels also………shall I go on??????????
The person behind the bar who greeted me was very friendly and helpful.
