How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewVery pleasant property on quiet suburban road. Very well equipped. Reasonably handy for shops and cafes. Nearby beach was okay but best beaches were on the bay itself, about 15 minutes drive. Very nice area.

Verified reviewLoved that the property was well located near everything we needed- near cafes, near the shops, near the beach. The property had everything we needed including cleaning items to maintain the place. The beds were so comfortable and that’s a huge factor for me when going away- they were better than some hotels I’ve stayed at.
Wish it had an ensuite to the main bedroom. My family and I kind of wished the DVD collection could have been more recent or that Netflix was offered.

Verified reviewIt was a good place for its value, good for our family and my 2 pelts. There was enough room for everyone, we were 5 and still there was one bedroom free. My 2 dogs enjoyed the decent backyard. All over out family had a good time.
To buy stuff we had to travell 30 min if you want to go to Woolworths or Coles, small shops are there but we do t get everything.

Verified reviewGreat place to stay with the kids. We used their charcoal bbq which was so good except for lack of long tongs to use. There is a gas bbq as well. Fully equipped kitchen with two coffee machines - De Gusto and K-fee. Lots of DVDs and air-con in the lounge. Fans in the bedrooms with quilts and pillows. Really nice bathroom and another toilet in the laundry inside. Figured out how to get to Netflix. There's a Dyson in in the internal laundry as well as various mops. Close to Vincentia.
Pillows were not comfortable and short tongs only for bbq. Could not figure out how to open the garage. No blu-ray player but there were blu-rays. No guides on how to use the t.v and there's three remotes, two which work. No dryer but there's a washing machine. Could do with summer blankets to use.

Verified reviewquiet location, big backyard good for entertaining and it is a spacious yet cosy house. plenty of coffee, milk and spreads so they have been generous with the snacks. dishwashing tablets too. very close to the beautiful beaches and Huskisson. Plenty of DVD’s for entertainment. the washing machine is great. Lots of privacy too and if you have pets you can let them explore the backyard without worrying about them escaping as there were no gaps under fences etc.
dog poop all over the front yard, had to watch our step. when we pulled the quilt off one of the beds, it looked creased as if it was slept in and there was some hair and crumbs in it so I don’t think the sheets were washed. cleaners must be cutting corners as there were ice cream wrappers behind the couch and hair accessories under the bed. under the couches was also dirty, pet hair everywhere and the bathroom not the cleanest either. the table outside was also dirty we made sure to clean it, the BBQ was dirty too so we didn’t bother with it. Definitely left it cleaner than we arrived, seems like the cleaners were in a rush which was a bit annoying as the first thing we did after a 3 hour drive was clean before we could comfortably relax. unfortunately due to weather we stayed at the house a bit and the TV is not a smart TV so you’re stuck with free TV or DVD’s. All in all, disappointing due to the lack of cleanliness.

Verified reviewThe location, decent property, relaxed area. We could see Kangroos on the way to hyams Beach. The Golf course nearby was filled with them.
One of the bathrooms was locked. The property was advertised as 2 bathrooms, but actually it is a 1 bathroom and 1 toilet. For a large family with 6 to 8 people on a holiday 1 shower is not enough. I booked this property for 2 bathrooms mainly, which I didnt receive.
