There was nothing I did not like.

It was so peaceful and the homestead is beautiful, brought back a lot of childhood memories. Lara was really lovely and breakfast was great. I would stay again and recommend

Lochinvar House is an idyllic country manor in original, historic mid 1800’s architecture and decor nestled in a scenic valley no more than 20mins from the heart of the Hunter. The caretakers Lara and Thomas were passionate and proud, ensuring our party were comfy and well fed from the amazing breaky. Ideal location for a celebration or just to chill and get in some quality time with friends or family.

It is a bit hard to find signage wise of the highway but once you know where it is all was ok.

It is a beautiful old house where you feel the history. Our room was really spacious and even though there were other guests in the house we barely knew they were there. Cooked breakfast every morning by the caretaker was great and very accommodating for the time we asked for, including a very early 6.30am breakfast.

The building and grounds obviously require some repairs. Repainting, replastering etc. The neglect of those issues will only make them worse with time. A little TLC by the owners and this majestic property would be outstanding.

Caretaker Marina was excellent. Friendly, helpful and very considerate. We were easily able to change our booking date after our plans changed. Our room was nice, comfortable and quiet. The house is an amazing example of colonial heritage and the location a great getaway. The pool in summer would be a wonderful bonus.

Very cold night - open fire would have been appreciated. Oil heater in TV room was insufficient to heat the room.

The hospitality of our host was warm, personal and helpful, a lovely bonus!. The heritage building and its lovely landscape setting is unique and historic. Great for a quiet getaway that feels peaceful and calm but is also just down the road from all the attractions of the region. We personally also received amazing flexibility from our host and owner when we had turned up on the wrong day due to a mix up on our part. they went above and beyond to graciously accommodate us.

The house and surrounding garden is in a little bit of disrepair. Door handles not working, locks not working. Needs a bit of TLC.
