AustraliaThe mirror in the bedroom was dirty from previous guests they obviously had a small child. There were dirty hand prints all over the mirror down low. Also hand prints all over the sliding door going out to the balcony.
We were upgraded to an apartment, which was much appreciated.

AustraliaThe overhead lights kept going on and off. I couldn’t contact Reception as there was no number for Reception in the room. I had to call the Hotel’s main number to get someone to come and check what was happening. A gentleman came and offered to move me but it was late and I had to be ready early the next day to get to the wedding I came up for.. He said he would get someone to look at it on Friday. When I got home Friday night, all the lights were on so I assumed it had been fixed. However when I got back on Saturday night, the lights went out again. I tried calling Reception again by dialling the main number again but no one answered the phone. My son, who was also a guest at the hotel came and managed to get them working again - he is an electrician. The other problem was I could not work the TV in the lounge room. There were no instructions telling how to operate it.

AustraliaThought we were getting a two bedroom apartment. Got two separate rooms. Non smoking property, yet smoking area not sheltered (rain). We were there in off season (July) but it seemed the only time the cocktail bar was open was for conferences to serve soft drinks.
Clean. Unexpected room service one day (obviously didn’t read the fine print). Balcony and ocean views lovely. Feels mostly like what we paid for.

AustraliaThe breakfast the next morning, I paid for as part of a package at booking. Upon entering the restaurant it was small and intimate but busy, this was fine but as it was winter there were several people coughing and sneezing. Self service buffet that was quiet generic with everyone touching the utensils to serve yet no hand sanitizer provided! None at entry, no E in the two dispensers on wall. Upon request a service look lady abruptly passed a staff bottle over the don't counter..it felt like it was a hassle for the person ..I mentioned that everyone's handling Servi g utensils but no-one is sanitising ..there was one gentleman whom was sniffling rubbing his nose then proceeded to remove the lid of tomatoes and baked beans, utilising handles, tongs and no sanitization. The juice tasted like a pre mix, the coffee pot wAs empty and food was decent but we'll handled by patrons..would never eat there again. .hubby took me for breaky elsewhere even though we had paid. It kind of put a dampener on the night away

AustraliaBut a few upgrades are needed. We have stayed here over 6 times over the years because it is close and not too expensive. But there is always something lacking in the rooms. Sadly this time there were dirty dishes and a couple of things broken in our apartment. Also a cockroach crawled on my hubby's arm in the night resulting in a poor sleep. They are not deal breakers and can easily be smoothed over with a sincere apology and kind offering from a customer service point of view. When we told reception staff, they said "oh sorry, we will take note of those things" and then "well I have cockroaches at home too". We found this a strange response since we didn't pay $185/night to stay in her home and you don't expect cockroaches in a resort bedroom. Simply a free coffee or 10% off the next stay, would have been more appropriate customer service in this regard.
We love the hot spa bath, the lovely landscaping and the tennis courts in this Mantra Resort!

AustraliaNot a fan of plantation shutters on bedroom windows. Yes they look neat, but they are not great at keeping out the light.
The apartment was great, had everything we needed for a couple of nights stay. We did use the heated pool and spa, very nice after coming back from work. We like having a kitchen to make our own food while travelling for work. The large balcony was great to sit out on and relax.
